The trail takes Ian all over Scotland and the more he discovers about Jamie the more he is convinced of his innocence. If he finds him, he could help him clear his name. But it soon becomes evident that Ian is not the only one looking for Jamie. He should report his findings to the police, but this could lead to the arrest of an innocent man.

A Brilliantly Twisty Scottish Mystery!

I thoroughly enjoyed Postcards from Jamie, the second installment in the Ian Skair: Private Investigator series. Hilary Pugh has crafted a clever, layered mystery that kept me guessing from start to finish. The investigative process is thoughtfully laid out, making it easy to follow while still delivering plenty of surprises.

Charles Robert Fox’s narration is outstanding. His authentic Scottish accent adds a rich sense of place and character, making the story feel immersive and genuine. His performance brings the atmosphere and personalities to life in a way that perfectly complements the writing.

If you enjoy twisty mysteries with a strong sense of setting and a well-paced plot, this audiobook is a must-listen. I’m already looking forward to the next Ian Skair adventure!

Outstanding

Ian Skair is former police detective who became a PI. He is very personable and has a lot of contacts and friends to call on when he investigates his most recent case. He is trying to find a man who disappeared 6 years ago after his boss’s murder. The world needs more people like Ian. The books can be read as stand alone novels, but to follow the characters’ development it’s best to read in order. The narration is outstanding.

I was gifted an Audible version of this book from the author through Story Origin. I enjoyed this twisty mystery. The narrator was perfect for this book. His Scottish accent took some getting use to, but was done very well. He had different voices, so it made it easier to distinguish between characters. 5 stars for him.

I enjoyed both the narration and the story. The narrator used different voices and his accents were easy to understand.

I also enjoyed the story. The main character, Ian, is very likeable, a hard worker with compassion and morals. I thought the story was original and flowed well.

A Complex Mystery

I was entertained by this mystery. I enjoyed the very complicated and convoluted mystery which unfolded slowly. I liked Ian Skair, and if I needed a private investigator, I would want the PI to be as intelligent and methodical as this character was written. I appreciated the inclusion of Ian's dog, Lottie, as she added some humor to the story. I thought Charles Robert Fox's narration was fine, and his slight accent added a touch of realism to the characters. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.
