Resumen del Editor

When the corporate monolith PortSys brought porting to the masses, CEO Emilia Kirsch and her son, Jason, accomplished what every other start-up company had failed to deliver.

They really did change the world. They reversed climate change. They created a multitrillion-dollar industry out of thin air, curing economic woes across the globe. They made it so that anyone could be anywhere simply by touching a screen...including the man who murdered Sarah Huff.

Now, Sarah’s 17-year-old sister, Anna, is determined to hunt the bastard down. But there are a few problems. She doesn’t know who the killer is or where in the world he may be at any given moment. Also, she’s stuck at prestigious Druskin Academy, where PortPhones are banned and any student who attempts to port off campus is immediately expelled.

It gets stickier. Anna’s also fallen in love with her dazzling new roommate, who just so happens to be Emilia Kirsch’s daughter, Lara. The dean of students wants Anna dead, perhaps literally. And she has only two friends to confide in; one is a reckless alcoholic and the other a bizarre fussbudget. Oh, and now she also needs to find Lara, who has mysteriously disappeared from campus.

Point B is the story of one clever and occasionally determined young woman seeking both love and vengeance but hardly ready for those two missions to intersect. It takes you to Vietnam, Hollywood, Singapore, Tokyo, inland Mexico, Oxford, the Maldives, Cuba, the coast of Northeast Australia, and all points beyond. You will find yourself plunged into a borderless, chaotic, oddly miraculous world that is ruled by a single bloodless corporation and by a family determined to keep it that way. PortSys never expected Anna Huff, and Anna Huff never expected love to make her this daring.

From the author of The Postmortal and The Hike comes Magary's most deliriously entertaining novel yet.

Great story and delivery

This is the first audiobook I have ever listened to. I have read several books by the author and found that the narrator brought so much life the dialogue that I really enjoyed the experience. Despite the length of the novel, it was enjoyable all along and never dull. Great experience all around.

It's... fine

An interesting premise but the love story is overwrought and silly. Could be better.

Enjoyed the book and the production

Book was good, not great or amazing but I enjoyed it. Narration was good but I had trouble listening on headphones just because the pitch always seemed too loud no matter the volume.

Up Next for iPhones…

Love Drew Magary’s brain and the way he writes. Great story about what can happen when a new technology is allowed to “improve” the world. Love the strong female characters and sci fi concepts. Gotta say…still not sure I trust you know who!!

Good Book

Performance was fantastic. Only issue, and its minor, is the deep Southern accent used for a guy from Richmond. Otherwise great.

Fun and incredibly well performed

It’s a very cute story, but the performance made it come to life. Amazing voices for the characters.

I think its very good just meanders at points

Short and sweet review for you!

The ending meandered and took a while to just end it like so many moments I was like there must just be a few mins left but there was 1 hour then 30 then 20 and I was like man when does this end. I in no way think that ruins the book but its something to be aware of

Some parts of the book feel like just rehashing or spending time where we dont need to spend time like developing characters that I dont think needed to be there and their job could have been done by other characters that were introduced prior

Good things now!
I loved the sassy wit of the main character she was very fun and it was balanced well with her inner turmoil. She at no point felt 1D and like she was only sassy. She had some darkness to her that I really liked and appreciated

The Side characters were amazing each one was so fun to hear talk and interact I loved every moment with most of them
Alright I said short and sweet and its mid length, sue me.

Its a Good book not amazing but I think if you like sci-fi and romance you'll dig this

Sherry Potter’s only got one spell: portkey

This delightful story was enjoyable from start to finish. There were bits that didn’t seem very plausible. Some of the premise is a bit unlikely even assuming we accept the porting tech. The main character is gay but the author doesn’t make it weird. That’s the worst I have to say. Besides that, the characters are fun, the story is exciting, and it wraps up cleanly. I’ll continue to be excited when this author releases more!

Point B-

Narrator did their best but some of the dialogue was hard to take. Humor felt forced and unnatural in places. Very disappointed because I loved The Hike and The Post Moral. I was confused occasionally regarding their age and what kind of school they were attending. Dialogue for teenage heros was too adult most times or childishly whimsical other times getting all the way to cringe. Bad guys were so stereotypical bad-guy, I could see them twirling their moustaches every time they were in the scene. Got through it but barely, I usually don't speed up the narration to 1.5%.

Love & adventure with unique, brave characters

A little weird, extremely creative, and absolutely compelling, this is a delight of a book. The characters are brave, unique, full of feeling, and poignantly relatable - hi, depression - and they live in a world both entirely fantastic and cuttingly recognizable. Tech barons operating like minor gods? Internet trolls telling everyone to KYS? Xenophobes and border patrol inflicting absurd cruelties? Yes, it’s not exactly what you expect from “escapist” fantasy, but in these dark days it’s cathartic to read and makes the characters’ victories all the more meaningful. This book is urgent and relevant to the moment. I think in 25 years I will go back to it to remember what these days felt like.

Lest I make this sound like a grind, I should mention that this book is full of energy and joy and a really cute queer romance. And it will make you rethink all your teleportation fantasies (everyone has those, right?).
