Pibbin, smallest of treefrogs, is desperate to get help get help for his injured turtle friend. It's a long journey to the doctor's house, and the other frogs tell him he's too small to go.
"You'll run into snakes and that giant bullfrog," they say. "Black Snapping Crabs will eat you."
Pibbin can't help wondering: Is he too small to be brave?

The story is just right for a younger reader. The characters are cute and the premise is clever and well thought out. I really liked that there are several morals mixed into the story, They are very nicely integrated into the tale.
I listened to the audiobook, great narration by Jon Repp. He has a full deep voice that results in a soothing read. It would be great for a child looking for a bedtime story read, not all parents are good story tellers. Jon had a wonderful way with creating energy and movement with his voice at all the right moments!
This book would be terrific paired with the ebook/print. I can see this as a way for a child having trouble reading, it would help them with comprehension.

If you could sum up Pibbin the Small in three words, what would they be?
Never too small!Who was your favorite character and why?
Pibbin is definitely the strongest character in this story and my favorite. Although tempted to stay home, take a ride to Silver Sea etc., once he realizes that Sheera, the turtle, is depending on him to allow her to get better/live, Pibbin does everything he can to help her. The journey may be perilous but he keeps moving towards the goal of getting those Sweetberry leaves from Doctor Diggitt, the woodchuck/groundhog and bringing them home. What about Jon Repp’s performance did you like?
Jon did an excellent job at narrating this book. He was easy to listen to, putting substance and good inflections into his reading. He changed his voice up for the different characters which definitely made it more interesting.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
We listened to this as a family and the children laughed out loud several times :) Their favorite part is "Pibbin snatched up the club and banged it on the toad's head. He grabbed more mud and threw it in his face." (The naughty toad had not only stolen all the Sweetberry leaves from Dr. Diggitt's garden, he had also knocked out Leeper, Pibbin's companion and was now threatening PIbbin!)Any additional comments?
At just over 1 hour in length this is just right for grabbing a child's attention - not too short and not too long. The story is fun with good lessons to be learned and one I know we will listen to again and again!Just so you know we were given a copy in exchange for our honest review. These are our thoughts and we are not affiliated with the author in any way.
We HIGHLY recommended from our house to yours!
Will PIbbin find the courage to help Sheera?
