Months into the apocalypse, the zombies show no signs of dying, but it's clear everyone in Sunset Park will die without enough food to outlast the undead. Add in the less-than-sociable new neighbors only blocks away, and the hunt for sustenance has come to feel more like a race than a ramble.
Sylvie is happy in her new home with the people who've become like family, though she's still working out how to let them into her heart. Eric wants in, and he wants to find his sister, but he can't do both at the same time. If he can do the second one at all - getting into the city was hard enough, getting out may prove impossible.
Despite setbacks - and a couple million zombies - it seems fortune is working in their favor. After all, food, security, and family are extraordinary when just being alive is a notable accomplishment. But fortune can turn on a dime, and all it takes is one misstep.

A great second book!
Loved the second book! Love the whole series really. One of my favorite authors. I liked the way the first book was read better and hope for the third they return to the old way.

Absolutely riveting
I didn't think that the 2nd book could be anybody dinner 1st book but then that it happens to be in also knowing the other series with their families now makes this all so much more real and scary but titillating and I just don't even want to stop listening! I listen when showering I listen when driving Ilisten when walking! great great great book! Fabulous narration! I'm talking this text! Sorry for no punctuation!

Ready for the next book
I hope the next book is written and ready to go, I’m so ready for it! I don’t think that liking or disliking zombies really matter much when listening to this book, actually all the books she’s written. You get so involved with knowing, loving or maybe disliking the characters (not too many to dislike), that you want them to do whatever it takes to survive. As I listened I could picture so much in my mind, Ms Fleming does a awesome job of making everything so real. Hope there’s a new book soon!! This book could be for any YA thru senior...I’m 67yrs old!

Why is she making an Eric voice?
The woman reading Sylvie’s part didnt make a fake Eric voice in the last book, so why is she doing it in this one? It’s distracting & annoying. If she keeps it up, I’m giving up on this book.
