Must read for every family!

This book provides the tools needed to create a respectful, loving family atmosphere with communication skill scripts that will enable you to put the knowledge into action. If only we were taught this in all organizations-church, school, and employment the world would be a better place!

I am so grateful I found Nicholeen Peck and I have been practicing her teachings, it has made a huge difference in my family, listening to this audio book helps me and explains everything in full detail, this is important for my children at the ages they are for me to become better at teaching them and talking to them, thank you for the guidance to help me strengthen my family!

Love love love this book!

I own the hard copy of this book and am grateful for an audible version to listen to while I work. This has changed the way I parent and how I communicate in all my relationships for the better. It has changed my life. My kids take my words to heart and we understand each other better. The recording is well done and easy to listen to, though I liked to listen at 1.25 speed.

Sincere, Relevant & the road less traveled

Although I have not fully implemented the Self Government program as described by Nicholeen Peck I have completed this audiobook and would recommend it to any family. She keeps it fun and entertaining through analogy, personal experience and sincere passion. This program is not merely a behavioral correctional plan but teaches parents how to lead by example and master their emotions. It has provided me hope and a framework to becoming the parent I have always desired to be. I can attest that the parts I have began to implement have already improved the feeling of peace in our home and helped to bring calmness in our very busy lives. Our children are quickly learning the 4 basic skills and keep me in line when I do not follow them.

A book every parent should read

This is the ultimate parenting and family guide. Thank you Nicholeen this book is truly inspirational and gives hope to achieving true happiness!

Her teaching change my life.

This is the one single book that every parent or person needs to read. The way she approach her family is like she would approach a business. Well organized and ready for success. I am not sure why parents of so many generation did record and past down the teaching of being a parents, but she did.
I was struggling to teach my toddler to respect, love, being civilized, without being aggressive like my parents once did, she changed all that for me through the 4 skill sets, pre teaching, correction? Intensive teaching and parents counseling. Through her and speaking to so many parents, I learned that consistency and pre teaching is the key to teach your child the skillsets they need to thrives and be happy in life.
She taught me that: we will self fish and unable to teach our kids. Every moment to correction should be done with love and kindness.
I am humble by the knowledge she’s passing onto us lucky ppl that get a chance to read this book.
Thank you Nicholeen, for changing my family’s life but particularly my life as a parent.

Struggling parents must read!

I truly enjoyed this book. It was very well thought out and covered so many topics I didn’t think of. I listened to this book in preparation of the Parenting University course available at the Teaching Self Government website. I stumbled upon Nicholeen Peck’s videos when researching how to handle my strong willed child. I’m so glad I did. I feel these methods will help restore our family’s roles in our home.

Step Dad of two!

I’m a recent step parent, however I never classify myself as a “step” parent. I love my children I got to choose them and they chose me back. This book I have shared with my wife and we are eager to start putting in the practice and principles of the book.

I created talk tracks and papers of “Sodas” the 4 steps and corrective / intensive training.

My wife and I are going to implement these ASAP with prepping and practice with the children.

My children are 5 & 6

We are hoping with dedication and commitment our kids will learn to become self governed.

I highly recommend this book! The book is concise and very easy to understand.
