Bill Parcells may be the most iconic football coach of our time. During his decades-long tenure as an NFL coach, he turned failing franchises into contenders. He led the ailing New York Giants to two Super Bowl victories, turned the New England Patriots into an NFL powerhouse, reinvigorated the New York Jets, brought the Dallas Cowboys back to life, and was most recently enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Taking readers behind the scenes with one of the most influential and fascinating coaches the NFL has ever known, Parcells will take a look back at this coach’s long, storied and influential career, offer a nuanced portrayal of the complex man behind the coach, and examine the inner workings of the NFL.

It was nice to hear the other side of controversies without the provocative angles used by some in the media. Instead, we simply hear one person's take on an issue without definitive conclusions or claims that "I was in the right!"
That said, the one drawback in the book was that i was hoping for more coverage on the comments and abrassiveness that made me interested in Parcells' book to begin with. I feel like the biggest stories were indeed covered. However, if you knew nothing about him, you'd come away wondering why in the world so many people found him controversial.
Overall, the book exceeded my expectations and was indeed an engaging football book.
Better than expected...

What made the experience of listening to Parcells: A Football Life the most enjoyable?
The overall story about Bill Parcells' life was very interesting. From his decision to give up what certainly would have been a lucrative career with Pizza Hut in its early days of existence to the Giants' first Super Bowl win this book had my attention the whole way.Who was your favorite character and why?
It was an auto-biography so the main character. What about Jason Culp’s performance did you like?
Jason Culp did very well reading this book. The only complaint I have is minor and that is that he mispronounced several names of well known football persons like Ed Debartolo among a few others. Overall great performance though.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There actually were some emotional moments for me. Parcells' honest, open recollections of his interaction with men like Lawrence Taylor and Curtis Martin showed a side of him I never would have guessed existed.Very interesting book about a legendary coach.

The rest of the book did not disappoint, however. It was a great listen from start to finish, sans the error in the beginning. He clearly admits his flaws as a husband and father. Kind of sad in a way. You don’t get a second chance when your children are young and impressionable. Besides football, he had no other other interests in his life. Without it, he was a lost soul. Many of his players looked up to him as a father figure and he was a terrible father to his own children and a bad husband as well. I give him a lot of credit for honesty.
It’s long but worth the investment.
Egregious error in the very beginning.
