Great start

Love the Academy tie-in, and otherwise this is a great start to a new series. The only major issue I have is the male narrator. I really found his "normal" voice to be annoying to listen to, with some really odd pacing and elocution. I came pretty close to returning the book at a few points because of him.

all around greatness

This is a great start to a series. It definitely checked all the boxes for me. Too bad I can't add a few more stars.

Midget confirmed

I’m pretty sure Deacon Frost is a midget. This is the second series I’ve listened to from him that has an oddly short MC lol. Jokes aside I think this story has some good bones. I started off really not liking the restrictions and the MCs class but the story still held my attention. The ties to Otherworld Academy were really cool too and I’m interested to see where they go.

Awesome follow up to otherworld academy with some surprises in store, can't wait to see what Deacon has coming next

I loved this title so much and the narration is so awesome what a great story!

Great story

Good story line with character development. The world is a great touch and a good RPG system that isnt to complicated. Looking forward to the next book.

I like this better than Academy

I found I liked this better than the Academy books. I've recently listened to the entire Academy series, and while I do like that series, I found I liked this better. I like Vester more than I like Levi. Vester seems more fun and less boiling with rage at all times. Yes, I know that's Levi's thing, being a Demon Lord, but it got old quickly with everything just sending him into a blind rage. Vester feels more balanced; he has serious handicaps, but works through them and around them to do what he wants. I've listened to the book twice already.

Also, sometimes the narrators will say a word that, while I get what they meant by context, will be the wrong pronunciation and throw me off for a moment.
