Because she doesn't want her parents to marry her off to a rich asshole alpha for money and status or to be kidnapped and bred like some other rare omega shifters. She wants her freedom, to be able to make her own choices, and both of those things are taken away the moment she's mated. Once she's claimed by an alpha, she'll become that alpha's property, and she refuses to live like that.

But now, everything she's worked so hard for is falling apart around her. Money is tight, and with her crappy car constantly needing repairs, she won't be able to afford the medication she needs to stay hidden from shifters, especially with the mating season only weeks away.

So, she makes a reckless decision and takes the cerberus and the centaur up on their offer to be their date to the yearly Night Gala, an exclusive shifter event for bachelor alphas, betas, and omegas, though it's not uncommon for humans to attend too, as "dates" or serving staff. Their offer is too tempting - one night of boring chats while looking pretty, and all her money problems will be solved.

That is, until the hydra and griffin alphas also appear at the Night Gala and everything goes to hell.

Don’t mind a cliff hanger but I would love to know when the next one comes out. I will definitely order it!!

Terrible Male Narration

Couldn’t get to far into the story though I feel it over explained a lot but the male narration is just terrible. All male characters same voice with a scratchy pitch and the cocky drawl and pauses just too many eye rolls.

Male narration is ... something

Narration: female does a fine job, male is fine with the male voices but the female voices he does are TERRIBLE!!!!!

Story: only about 1/2 way thru the first book and so far it’s good.

action drama romance great story can't wait for part 2 I love the characters all of it alpha or different and she's great

Voices didn’t work

I think these actors would have worked better as a duet. The males voice when doing female dialogue made me cringe. Too high pitched and fake very unpleasant and kept jolting me out of the story.

Couldn’t get through it

I hated this book with every fiber of my being. It read like a poorly written watt pad story and the male narrator sounded like nails on a chalk board.

Ugh. The male narrator is awful

Oh my gosh I'm only on chapter 3, and I can't stand the male narration. It's terrible. His girl voices are horrible. He always uses this exasperated tone. It's cringy. What a waste of a credit.
