Listen to It Because
New insights into the Primaris Space Marines abound, as well a look at Primarch Guilliman as he leads his great crusade to reclaim the Imperium
The Story
The age of the Dark Imperium has begun, and the human race is poised on the brink of ruin. In their darkest hour, the Emperor’s servants have achieved the impossible: the resurrection of the Primarch Roboute Guilliman. Now Lord Commander of the Imperium of Man, Guilliman marshals his forces in a desperate effort to drive back the predations of Chaos: the Indomitus Crusade. Dispatched ahead of the bulk of Guilliman’s war fleets, Chaplain Helios of the Ultramarines is entrusted by the risen primarch with a mission of vital importance. Will he achieve a crucial victory for Guilliman in time, or will a millennia-old obsession spell his doom? And just what manner of weapons will be needed to wage the war to save mankind?

Beware of minor spoilers, but not big ones.
First, one of the main topics dealt with in this story is the integration of Primaris Marines into the chapters.
great topic
It is made to bring perspective to the new age of the Dark Imperium, this the author does well.
The antagonists are the 4th Legion, which works well. The primary antagonist is almost a self-parody however. He is SO over the top that he is a detriment to the story.
Second, fight sequences need to make sense. If a guy is doing 3 things in the time that his opponent only does 1 thing, then there needs to be SOME REASON. Being the author, he needs to provide that reason or the sequence becomes unable to be believed.
Third, clips go in hair or hold bags closed. MAGAZINES hold rounds for a firearm. ONLY morons that don't even FAKE to know what they are talking about call them "clips". Please, spend 5 minutes on YouTube watching a gun channel. . . ANY gun channel.
Fourth, how did the Iron Warriors outrun them to the storage sight? They didn't know where they were going, they left later, they had more people and a dreadnought to load up, and somehow the 4th Legion gets there first?
Characters that were said to be out of ammunition were mysteriously shooting again. Pages later, they would be resupplied explicitly, but story internal validity was weak.
This is not the only time in the story this sort of thing happens. It seems as though the book was written then mercilessly edited down for length.
It is like significant exposition or character interaction was just cut out.
good but with some gaps

If you've read Ben Counter's Battle For the Abyss, you'll understand the type of novel this is. I would compare thos book to that one, the B-Movies of Warhammer.
Mediocre, not BL's usual quality.

the story however, it's hard enough keeping up with the names used in the 40K world. but then you keep jumping to different battlefields and different times in different worlds? very easy to get lost in what's happening now and what's happening then and to who.

listening through a second time, does help make sense of things, clear up some confusion.
