Alaska State Trooper Liam Campbell, newly promoted to corporal, is slowly making a home for himself in the remote town of Newenham. Between DUIs and domestic disputes, life is relatively tranquil, until Campbell's girlfriend, bush pilot Wyanet Chouinard, delivers a shipment of mail to a remote post office, where she finds the postmistress murdered. The hunt is on for a killer who seems to have vanished into the Bush... Until another victim is found. Chilling connections from the past make the search a matter of life and death.©2013 Dana Stabenow (P)2013 Brilliance Audio, Inc. I was carried along with the story. Well crafted. but a little predictable. Liam Campbell not quite as interesting as Kate Shugat.

Excitement

Do try to tolerate this awful narration. The story is good. The characters are likable, the writer has a nice touch with humor and timing, even if it is difficult to find them through the butcher job the reader does of her sentences.

Good book, awful narrator

A terrific adventure across the Alaskan bush. Great characters and amazing writing and story telling, you can feel yourself immersed with the characters. Great narration by Marguerite Gavin. Check out her Kate Shugak, I think it’s even better and Liam, Wy & Trooper Prince are featured heavily in one of the later books.

Such an amazing mystery

Nothing Gold Can Stay is the third book in the Liam Campbell series. Set in the Alaskan Bush you get a sense of the people and atmosphere of the small community. Marguerite Gavin once again brings the characters to life and the feel of the community comes across in her performance.

Dana Must Love Robert Frost because her book titles come from the Names of his Poems or phrases within his poems.
This book and the series as a whole could be titled "Love and Murder and Murder and Murder". I for one will not visit the Alaskan Outback because there are just too many dead people.

I like the character interaction and the real life drama but I hope that maybe there are other crimes in Liam Campbell's future.

Dana is a good writer and I enjoy here stories. I am more intrigued by the relationships than the solving of the crimes. That is the Gold in this series.

Love and Murder book 3 in Liam Campbell Series

I liked this one--the plot is sort of crazy and the reader/listner needs patience as all of the back stories and victims develop during the story. Stabenow clearly knows Alaska and does a great job writing about the location, people & culture. Some of the characters, Wy and Moses, for example, develop more fully. All of those things seem to enhance the story. Some of the characters and locations are fascinating. Sometimes,I lost track of which/where the characters existed. The narrator did a good job differentiating characters--I could always tell when Moses was speaking. Like Clancy, the writing frequently jumps around and eventually gets tied together. Stabenow writes a highly charged story that grabs you from the first page and never lets go. Next, book 4.
