For too long, Christians have domesticated God, bringing him down to our level as if he is a God who can be tamed. But he is a God who is high and lifted up, the Creator rather than the creature, someone than whom none greater can be conceived. If God is the most perfect, supreme being, infinite and incomprehensible, then certain perfect-making attributes must be true of him. Perfections like aseity, simplicity, immutability, impassibility, and eternity shield God from being crippled by creaturely limitations. At the same time, this all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-wise God accommodates himself, exhibiting perfect holiness, mercy, and love as he makes known who he is and how he will save us.

The attributes of God show us exactly why God is worthy of worship: there is none like him. Join Matthew Barrett as he rediscovers these divine perfections and finds himself surprised by the God he thought he knew.

The start of this book is beautiful. The last few chapters felt repetitive to me. There is a lot of reiterations of the simplicity and imutabilty of God.

First 2 chapters are GREAT!

The narration was very smooth, articulated and engaging. I always looked forward to listening. What a feast for the soul!

A superb book about God's being & attributes

I’m really thankful for this work; it has helped me to gain a better grasp of theology. I highly recommend it!

Excellent explanation of theology

I loved this book. Prior to listening to Barrett's book .... I listened several times to Tozer's "The Knowledge of the Holy" (and I continue to recommend it) because it is so wonderful in it's 'pastoral nature'.

I was introduced to Reformed Theology by a coworker in the early 2000's. He gently drew me out of the Armenian soup which I had been stewing in since 1978 and introduced me to Calvin, Van Til, Vos and others.

"None Greater" is an excellent companion, in my humble opinion, to the library of anyone seeking a greater knowledge of our Holy God....
in order that we might better "worship Him in spirit and truth".

I highly recommend

A beautiful articulation of Classic, confessional, Christian Theism. It does not require a PhD in philosophy to comprehend, yet it does not abandon the Classical Metaphysic. Neither the novice, nor the Thomist will come away empty handed.

Concise. Orthodox. Biblical. Readable.
