The end of the world begins at dawn, when the sun rises later than it should. Then the holes appear. The first forms in Central Park, within sight of an apartment where Repairman Jack and a man as old as time watch with growing dread. Gaping holes, bottomless and empty…until sundown, when the first unearthly, hungry creatures appear.

Nightworld brings F. Paul Wilson’s Adversary Cycle and Repairman Jack saga to an apocalyptic finale as Jack and Glaeken search the Secret History to gather a ragtag army for a last stand against the Otherness and a hideously transformed Rasalom.

Enjoyed it start to finish. Although Repairman Jack didn't have as central a role as he usually does it was still a great story. Wonderful ending to The Keep storyline!

Great Story!

I enjoy it more every time I either read it or listen to it. Overall story is well thought out and narrator does a great job.

Great ending to a great series

I had read this book about 10 years ago and only remembered the parts about the bugs. I really liked the characters and the way they were brought together. I also really like the way the "forces in the universe" were explained.

Great story

Just so sad to reach the end. Sure wish there were more of these books. Might be my all time favorite series.

Best series ever

I liked the book. my only complaint is that a couple words were mispronounced. only thing I can say bad about the story is the author vastly overestimated how long it would take society to collapse

excellent

I first started this series back a few years ago, and the last book was so dark, I just didn't finish it then. In fact, I didn't make it very far into it.

Wow was that a mistake. The author did a great job of tying the loose ends together and coming up with a great conclustion to the series. I just bought the teen jack series on Kindle for more background, too, so I'm not done with jack yet.

great finish

Too many of the characters who killed off would like to see the series continued in the near future

I love the story

Would you consider the audio edition of Nightworld to be better than the print version?

Never read the print version but enjoyed listening to this book!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Glaken, was my favorite character. Old and dedicated to his wife, and to the cause.

Which scene was your favorite?

Allen fighting the chew bugs and centipedes trying to be quiet so his wife and son would here him die!! He was a hero!!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Kolabati finally realized that Jack wasn't lying about what was happen in the world and she took off her necklace and laid down and asked Glaken to stay with her as she passed on. Bill and Carol's reunion and love making was pretty good too.

If this ever happened you would be terrified!

What made the experience of listening to Nightworld the most enjoyable?

The resolution of plotlines laid out over a couple dozen novels.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jack is always a favorite. He is like an old friend after more than a dozen novels.

Which scene was your favorite?

The final battle with Rasalom. An epic ending to an epic story.

If you could rename Nightworld, what would you call it?

The End Of The World As We Know It

Any additional comments?

I have followed Repairman Jack from his first appearance in The Tomb and The Adversary Cycle since The Keep. It all comes together here...all of it. Having just finished this final chapter, I feel exhausted by the sheer immensity of the story. These stories are the very definition of the term: Epic.

The Epic Conclusion

Se ha producido un error. Vuelve a intentarlo dentro de unos minutos.

Dispite the ongoing hatred I have for Willsons injection of "The Otherness" into what would have otherwise been a phenomenal franchise of Repair Man Jack and his fixes, this book kept pace and interest for most of the story. Sadly, the anticlimactic end drags on and on to a point where you don't really care if a Racoshi jumps out and castrates Jack and Glaken together, as long as a conclusion is reached.

If you've made it through the series, you have to read this one. If not, pick up Cold City and Dark Cuty, it's all Jack and Fixes (with a few Annoyances).

Strong Start, Dull Finish
