“This one’s a killer.” —Erika T. Wurth, author of White Horse

Liz Kerin’s Night’s Edge is a sun-drenched novel about the darkest secrets we hide and how monstrous we can be to the ones we love most.

Having a mom like Izzy meant Mia had to grow up fast. No extracurriculars, no inviting friends over, and definitely no dating. The most important rule: Tell no one of Izzy’s hunger – the kind only blood can satisfy.

But Mia is in her twenties now and longs for a life of her own. One where she doesn’t have to worry about anyone discovering their terrible secret, or breathing down her neck. When Mia meets rebellious musician Jade she dares to hope she’s found a way to leave her home – and her mom – behind.

It just might be Mia’s only chance of getting out alive.

Night’s Edge is a gruesome and surprisingly heartfelt page-turner.”—Alexis Henderson, author of House of Hunger

Reseñas de la Crítica

<p>“Fascinating. A powerful, thoughtful, and all-too-real take on vampires that will ring true for abuse survivors and have everyone else jumping at shadows.” —<b>Delilah S. Dawson</b>, <i>New York Times </i>bestselling author of<i> The Violence</i><br><br>"<i>Night's Edge</i> is a 'vampire next door' story that feels achingly human, set in a world both strangely alien and frighteningly familiar. So realistic you’ll swear it happened to someone you know.” —<b>Scott Thomas</b>, author of <i>Kill Creek</i><br><br>“A heartbreaking story…. An emotional gauntlet which I really enjoyed.” —<b>Sunyi Dean</b>, author of <i>The Book Eaters</i><br><br>“A harrowing, electric, and wholly original take on vampires and the complexities of mother-daughter relationships. <i>Night’s Edge</i> is a gruesome and surprisingly heartfelt page-turner.” —<b>Alexis Henderson</b>, author of <i>House of Hunger</i><br><br>“<i>Night’s Edge</i> is about vampires, yes. But it’s also about the kind of love we have for our mothers that pulls us apart, that makes us who we are, and the way in which we have to find our own path eventually, no matter how difficult—and potentially beautiful—that path might be. Loved this take on the vampire genre, which cycles between then main character as a 10 year old during a viral lockdown & her as an adult navigating life & romance as a late bloomer. The author has an amazing ability to create dread! Best book I’ve encountered in a long while.

Enthralling story and incredible narrator

Not only is the narrator one of my favorites I’ve heard and perfect for this book, the story itself is gripping. I can’t say much without giving away plot points, but I’m stoked the story will continue soon with the upcoming sequel!

Loved this and looking forward for the sequel!

Excellent character development, slow burn and intense story. The author has such a way with words. Narrator is spot on too.

Mind Blown

I rarely write reviews, I typically only write about books that are really amazing, or really awful. Let me tell you, I adored this book. The emotional complexity of the characters is incredible, I also adored how the writer put a lot of thought into this world’s vampirism. It’s got it’s own unique spin that many recent stories lack, and doesn’t fall too far into campy themes. It walks a tight line of being a unique and well written story without being too much.
I will say that at times I felt myself frustrated with the main characters lack of gusto, but it never felt out of character or unnecessary. If written poorly, Mia might have felt whiny, but instead she was a multi dimensional character that I truly connected to, and sympathized with. I would absolutely recommend this book!

Vampy, Queer, and Emotionally charged!

I am not sure if the vampires are needed for this novel. This is a story of many vicitims, their coping mechanisms and their way to freedom.
"Vampires" are the way to read from a distance to the everyday horror of many. I hope this book will help someone to make their first step to better life.
Entrancing, Definitely recommend!
