A machine of inhumanity

This prequel to Behind Blue Eyes uses the character of Nephilim as a window into the machine that grinds children into killers. Angels are not Born, but Made, and they are all fallen, processed, misguided souls. A worthwhile glimpse into the methodology of turning people into the cogs of the Olympias machine.

a fantastic binge-read for any SciFi or cyberpunk fan!

This series is a great origin story for one of the Behind Blue Eyes characters! From the trials and process of becoming a Guardian Angel to her first combat mission, Nephilim is well-written with a great storyline and character development. Must read!

It's a personal pet peeve of mine, but the narrator has a tendency to mispronounce names from time to time. That's the only knock I have against this series.

Fun back story

A good addition to Behind Blue Eyes.

Could be a stand alone - except - the author breaks the narrative 4th wall from time to time and says something like "but she doesn't know that yet" which nods to the story in BBE.

The reader is really good - except - she needs to learn how to say "CORPS" (like "core" like the Marine Corps). She continually reads it as "Angel Corpse" instead of Angel Corps (core). It's an easy thing to confuse in cyberpunk because that genre does say "Corps" (like corpse) for a corporate abbreviation.

Fun to read though and great to listen to while waiting for the next installment in this fun world that Anna has created for us.

the fact the Raphael is a pedophile

stories pretty cool and has good dialogue. not very keen on listening details about a 13 year old girl and a 17 year old boy have sex. kinda just sounds like one of those "authors terribly disguised fantasy"

Disappointingly childish and poorly written

I made it a third of the way through before giving up. The writing is poor and about as subtle as a sledgehammer. I hoped it would improve but it didn’t.
