NO GREATER FRIEND
Evan Smoak is the guy you want on your side. A former government black ops assassin, he'll be there for you in your darkest hour - and he'll rain hell and thunder on those who caused your pain.

NO WORSE ENEMY
A lone wolf operator, Evan can't afford to lose any of the few people he likes and trusts. But when Tommy Stojack, Evan's loyal, long-time gunsmith and armourer, betrays him, it's war.

Because a good assassin keeps his friends close, but his weapons closer . . .

Reseñas de la Crítica

Laughs as well as action. A thriller that makes the Jack Reacher books look quaint
He is a weapon of mass entertainment and the action never stops
First-rate and deftly varied combat scenes. Rewardingly, it's more plugged into the mood and issues of the present than a Lee Child slugathon

If you're a fan of the Orphan X series, Nemesis is not to be missed.

I was skeptical when I read the blurb, how could there possibly be a falling out between Evan Smoak and Tommy Stojack? Their bond seemed unbreakable. But as the story unfolded, and the clues began to mount, it became clear that Evan was forced to confront a painful truth. The weapons used by the enemy could only have come from one place.

What makes Nemesis truly standout is how it places Tommy on equal footing with Evan, two main characters, each carrying the weight of their choices. Evan’s internal struggle over the situation adds emotional depth and after Too Tough to Run, it became heartbreakingly clear that Tommy's story might be nearing its end.

If he had to go, Gregg Hurwitz gave him a send-off worthy of his character: going out doing what he loved most. It’s a fitting and powerful tribute to a beloved character.

Highly recommended for fans who appreciate action, emotional depth, and morally complex characters.

A more serious and morally deep story line.. The author has given us the same Evan, Tommy and Joey, but the story line is deep and confronting.. almost gloomy at times. The 'extra characters' are real and relatable.
Very well written and brilliantly narrated by Scott Brick, as always.
SPOILER ALERT:
I'm going to miss Tommy Stojack -brilliantly described by the author, and that voice...which was wonderfully created and adapted by Scott Brick. Close your eyes and you can just picture Tommy's face as well as his getup and trucker cap!
A deep, yet peaceful, send off to a much loved character.
RIP Tommy, I'm gonna miss you!

Different, but just as damn good!

This was a deep & intricately detailed story. A social commentary in a cleverly written story. Made me quite sad. We need to be better, to do better.

Deep

Tedious. I read all the previous books and loved them. This was too much for me. Didn’t like the direction, not sure I’ll go for the next one. Thx for the journey till this book, but I think I’ll drop here.

Some parts were good like previous books

It had potential but bogged down by too many flashbacks and an overabundance of soul-searching and internal torment. While the core story was intriguing, the constant dips into the protagonist’s past and inner struggles disrupted the pacing and made it hard to stay engaged. there’s a good thriller in there, but it gets lost in its own introspection

Too much psychodrama
