Mystery kept me guessing

Love the reader! Good story. Development of the characters. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I love this narrator!

I finished the first 2 in the “Wrexford & Sloane” series, so I continued on. The mystery wasn’t as twisted and explained as I thought the others were but I love the continuation of their relationship and the narrator is a dream to listen to. I’m moving on to book 4!

Excellent

Well this was excellent. Again a subject that makes me think of Frankenstein by Shelly. But one many through the years have broached

Murder, mayhem and Charlotte back into society. On to the next!

Another well thought out mystery.. Performance was excellent and many murders to solve. Great chemistry between the characters.

Kudos to Ms Penrose (again)

A delightful cast of characters set in turn of the century Great Britain. Charlotte is a strong woman raising two street orphans while running up against pro-science, pro-intellectual, (feminist) Rexford. Together they (again) use their “team” and wits to solve a series of murders. Well written & paced; with plot twists & turns to keep the listener drawn to the adventure. Narration by JC Stewart is top-notch, with all the voices & dramatic inflections to breathe life into Penrose’s novel!

Holds together well

The author does a good job in developing the main characters from one installment to the next. I enjoy watching them grow. The murder is something you have to let play out and just go along for the ride. The narration is also quite good which adds to the enjoyment of the characters. If you follow the series, you should like this installment.

Very enjoyable cozy mystery series with a little history. The narrator does a great job.

#3 is another winner

Intriguing story. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this plot before. strong, smart characters surviving in a stratified society of the industrial revolution. More depth than most historic mystery romance. My new favorite author.

Did it again. Andrea Penrose writes another page turner.

The mystery kept me engrossed, but I find stalemate between Charlottes and Rex is maddening. I want to yell “get on with it”.
