“Mummy's Little Secret” is a psychological thriller by M.A. Hunter. Rose Robinson's exceptional narration skills are what drew me to this book. Although I would have preferred Lianne Walker or Ruth Urquhart as the Scottish(?) narrator instead of Charlie Mudie, whose voice sounded stilted, stiff and quite annoying. With twists and turns, “Mummy’s Little Secret” started out as a devious thrilling ride that explores the darker side of human nature. Unfortunately, midway through, I had to skip the “Mudie” chapters. Robinson’s engaging narration had me hooked, and I always appreciate her work. As one of my favorites, her skills are undeniable. I've enjoyed her narration in many books written by the brilliant Valerie Keogh. Her voice brings these stories to life, making them more engaging. Robinson's narration has earned her a spot alongside my other favorite voices, including Julia Whelan, Clare Corbett, Tamsin Kennard, Lisa Coleman, Rachel Atkins, Lucy Price-Lewis, and January LaVoy – exquisite narrators who bring stories to life with their skill and nuance. While Mudie’s narration was extremely difficult in which to listen, Robinson's skill as a narrator is evident in the many books she's worked on.
