Good story & narration
Enough twists to make you want to know the ending- and not necessarily the ending you expect. Good narrator! Deals with a lot of not so nice issues, so you have to tell yourself it's not real (although it could be ).

Everyone was too tough. She was correct. They lived in a different world. I’d been dead in the first paragraph. I’m glad of the ending. I was not sure who would be alive.

Good book
Compared to the first book our detective still has no intuition what do ever, but I love her anyway. Glad she’s kind of controlling her aggression - using it as needed. I enjoyed it.

The story was well written and the characters were relatable. You can feel the emotions through the description and imagery. Alex had quickly become one of my favorite authors.

Great second book follow up in series
Keep bringing the Hanlan series!
I'd like to see her getting more investigative smarts, after all she was a cop first. Now PI, why do women get portrayed less smart then men counterparts?
