The suspense was awesome, and I liked that the story ended on a happy note.

I've been waiting for this book since ice met Caleb.. He's a mystery and he wanted it to stay that way.. But to get a glimpse of him was exciting. And a vulnerable Jane is a good look. She's so much in control that it's nice to see someone else take it from her. This book was full of excitement and murder and mayhem.. Just how I like it

I am SO over Jane and her attitude...

I'm liking the Eve Duncan series. Some of it is obvious, some cheesy or outdated "roles," but those things don't bother me. I love that they blend murder, mystery, suspense, and mystical elements...some of my favorite genres! I can even handle the "will they, won't they" tension between some of the male and female characters. However, I'm on chapter 4 of this book right now, and I'm literally yelling out loud at Jane and her nasty, rude, condescending comments towards Caleb. You wonder why he doesn't tell you anything or be serious when emotionality comes into play! Then, he starts opening up to her, at her insistence to do so from the beginning, and she snaps back with, "why are you telling me all of this?!" Furthermore, he's clearly vulnerable and upset about his sister, and she starts throwing all of these nasty barbs to the effect of, "well maybe if you didn't leave her she wouldn't be in danger."

If I were Caleb, I'd cut my loses and leave this woman. She's the worst.
