Loved it!!

I loved this audiobook. It is FUN to get lost in Breena’s world. The descriptions make me feel like I’m in Savannah, and feeling the heat. The narrator is a perfect fit for the protagonist and she is easy to follow and she uses different tones for the multiple characters. You don’t have to be in your 40s to enjoy this story. It is fast paced, funny, action, and has a world of supernaturals. If you enjoy paranormal audiobooks I recommend that you pick this audiobook. Lauren Fortgang does a fabulous job bringing the story to life. The book has a nice hook at the end that leaves you wanting to know what happens next! I received a free copy of this audiobook, and I’m reviewing it voluntarily.

fast moving, great storyline, interesting characters. Engaging narrator doing all voices just as you think they should read. Hard to stop listening. Going right into the next book with this one ending on a bit of a cliffhanger. Not like I wouldn't be running to the next one anyway.

Bree's new adventure

I love this whole series and seriously can't wait for the next book to come out! I kept cheering for Bree & the gang. Her love life is turning up a notch, but can she really end up trusting either men in her life? Bree has to deal with goblins , demons & ghosts this time around. I feel for Bree's sadness & love how she owns who she is, but doesn't let that stop her from being the badass that she is. I could read about Bree & her adventures forever!

Must Read Series

This is a very light witty magical series in involving Bree a middle age divorcee who goes back home to tend to her dead grandmothers house ends up guarding fairies and chasing demons. There is plenty of action, several twists and now a cliffhanger ending in this 3rd book of the series. There is a chapter where a passionate scene becomes hot and heavy and I like how the author gave notice to the listener that they can skip the chapter and get a overview (which was very well done). This series on a much lighter note than most paranormal books/series. I like the adventure and am looking forward to more. Characters are different than most paranormal character for the most part and their development continues with each book as does the storyline. Narrator does a wonderful job with various voices. Highly enjoyable.

Loved It!

I am loving this series. Thus book is packed full, lots of action, lots of big story arc movement. Really the only downside is the wait for the next book.

Love this series

I’ve been working my way through this series very quickly; I enjoy the main character and all her friends. It’s nice to find a heroine who is very relatable in an interesting story.

How Bre is coming into her own

I love the story line. I do hate how Crash at this point has turned his back on her.

Too much

This book was ok. There was so much thrown out there, so many different creatures, hard to keep it all straight. The only real good part was the last two chapters. It ended on a cliff hanger I really don’t like that so I will have to read the next one. Just not in to much of a hurry to.

Talk about leaving me on the edge of my seat!!!

This installment of the 40 proof series has been amazing. However, we need some resolution to the relationship with Crash it is too hot for words! Enough of the back-and-forth trying to protect each other saving each other and getting to the brink, then getting interrupted ....enough please I hope the next installment is out soon, great series thank you!

Almost Everything a Midlife Book Should Be!

Your favorite characters are back and with a vengeance, yet with some very interesting new developments. Though Breena struggles with her insecurities in her age and abilities, she continues to find new solutions to any obstacles she faces. It’s hilarious how accurate her thoughts and comments are! I about died when things got spicy with one of her male leads. Even more so when Mayer flat out calls out the spiciness about to happen and gives any prude readers the chance to skip ahead. Though things make sense in the end, this book does take a dark turn and caused me to despair for Breena several times. It just did not have the same beacon of hope where the reader can figure out the solution on their own, which I missed.

I can appreciate that neither male love interest is perfect, and in fact, both has their fair share of flaws, but this constant back and forth between them is getting a little tiring. Maybe it’s because I just wish that Breena would finally get even a glimpse of her happily ever after. Especially with a POS like Himself who takes even a larger role in this book. The other thing that bothered me, was that there was an immense amount of intrigue and speculation around Breena’s genealogy and magical abilities, but we still don’t get any closer to learning either of them. She starts showing some of her abilities, but we still don’t get a clear answer to what they will be. It’s more of her stumbling on them and using them based on instinct. In the end, there’s quite the hook to keep you going, and can’t wait to find out what happens next!
