Great narration, interesting storyline

I liked the varied characters, covering multiple generations. Also that each character was enacted by a different actor.
There was pathos and laugh out loud humor.
The Cornish coast was of interest to me. The historical bits about how clothing was made and repaired and what purose some of the features of the clothes meant.
The discussion of "visible mending" was great.

conflict and romance and a unique style for the storytelling. I enjoy the character development and the splicing together of the different families and backgrounds and the end weaving everything together. nicely done!

fun story

I liked this story very much. I liked the writing, appreciated the bits of history in this story as well as the author's obvious appreciation of history. This is a Romeo and Juliette story, except the couple get to live.

Feel Good Well Done

I usually go for sci-fi, but I got tired of the dystopian feel of doom. I switched to this book For a feel good change and it was all that.

A Knowleable Author And Rich Details!

This was a refreshing book for many reasons. The author’s knowledge of fabrics, dyes, plants, pro sports sponsorship, needle arts and shoulder injuries matches my own. She got it right.

Details flowed naturally and the characters were generally kind and motivated for good.

I enjoyed the story and how it flowed so much that I listened to it twice, back to back.

Rich local history, timeless love story

Authentic characters finally choosing truth over pride concerning their families endless feud. . Well written with depth that didn’t depend on sex to communicate love.

Family fueds based on pride and lies.

Tragedy often makes us re evaluate our lives and priorities. Not a choice we want to make but a necessary happening. We choose to make the best of it or let it defeat us. We can choose to remake ourself and enjoy life or live in the past with our regrets.

Such a wonderful story

Lovely and very believable story. Delicious characters, wonderfully brought to life. A bitter- sweet romance in the past and a glorious unfolding of a present day romance.
