Resumen del Editor

Number-One New York Times Best Seller

What Melania wants, Melania gets.

The former director of special events at Vogue and producer of nine legendary Met Galas, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff met Melania Knauss in 2003 and had a front row seat to the transformation of Donald Trump’s then-girlfriend from a rough-cut gem to a precious diamond. As their friendship deepened over lunches at Manhattan hot spots, black-tie parties, and giggle sessions in the penthouse at Trump Tower, Wolkoff watched the newest Mrs. Trump raise her son, Barron, and manage her highly scrutinized marriage.

After Trump won the 2016 election, Wolkoff was recruited to help produce the 58th Presidential Inauguration and to become the First Lady’s trusted advisor. Melania put Wolkoff in charge of hiring her staff, organizing her events, helping her write speeches, and creating her debut initiatives. Then it all fell apart when she was made the scapegoat for inauguration finance irregularities. Melania could have defended her innocent friend and confidant, but she stood by her man, knowing full well who was really to blame. The betrayal nearly destroyed Wolkoff.

In this candid and emotional memoir, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff takes you into Trump Tower and the White House to tell the funny, thrilling, and heartbreaking story of her intimate friendship with one of the most famous women in the world, a woman few people truly understand.

How did Melania react to the Access Hollywood tape and her husband’s affair with Stormy Daniels? Does she get along well with Ivanka? Why did she wear that jacket with "I really don’t care, do u?" printed on the back? Is Melania happy being First Lady? And what really happened with the inauguration’s funding of $107 million? Wolkoff has some ideas....

Rampant Sociopathy in the White House

The only question left unanswered is how this outwardly charming pack or vacuous jackals have refrained from eating their own.

Of course they have learned to dine on the pain and wealth of those outside of their pack.

It’s easy to see how those who admire their wealth and elevate their transactional mode of living to something desirable and smart would vote to be the next victims without realizing they are on the menu.

Hopefully the rest of us will vote to shut this particular buffet down in November.

Fascinating Read

First person account of what it's like being a friend of "The Trump Family," learning a difficult lesson about how charm can blind you. The author's own voice recounting her personal experiences with Melania Trump added to my fascination. Definitely worth the time and money investment in this audio book. To the author, I have experienced this kind of betrayal and feel deeply for your physical and mental pain. Hugs.

Awesome Read

Sadly it cost her so much to learn the hard way who the Trump's really are. Trump's don't know what the meaning of decency is. So sad and sorry she had to go thru this.

Interesting and inspiring

I doubt the hard copy is as interesting as the audio due to the details.

The self destruction of the 1st Lady

I listened to this book with an extremely open mind. The revelation of how the media in all of its forms print and TV or cable news was numbingly hurtful. It is also very unfortunate and disturbing that Stephanie's non disclosure agreements will conceal what is below the tip of this iceberg as noted in her book. It is clear that the Trump family has no desire to be honestly transparent with not only the entire world but particularly has no desire to be transparent and honest with the people of the United States.

Perhaps if Donald Trump loses the 2020 election more revelations will come to the forefront and hopefully over time America will know that he and his entire family are the best snake oil salespeople ever granted permission to disperse their elixir.

I have always pictured Trump as they Charlatan snake oil salesman that you would have seen in an old black-and-white Western who stands on a wooden box in front of his horse drawn wagon with the doors wide open and the gleaming bottles of every professed cure imaginable. Cures to be dispensed at the beckoning of the clamoring crowd who eagerly listen to the nonsense flowing from the charlatans mouth.

This book simply puts up button on all of the other books that have been published thus far. In all of the other books an argument can honestly be made that the authors are aggrieved former employees. However Stephanie's 14 year friendship with Millennia Trump puts a different and more clear understanding on the disingenuous relationship the Trump's spin between themselves and the American people.

Well done Stephanie, well done indeed!

Stephanie was a true friend & paid high price

Don't listen to the critics. This is a sad story of someone that gave everything she had to someone she thought was a friend. Stephanie seemed to truly love Melania and did everything within her power to help. She paid a terrible price. No one deserves to be treated like this, especially by someone you think is your friend. I would highly recommend this book.

Strength and Grace

What an eye opening account of one woman's life amongst the Trump family, back stabbing politics and an inside look in the White House. I have always wanted to believe that Melania was a better person than the rest of the Trumps, but now I realize I was just sticking my head in the sand. I guess I've always wanted to give Melania the benefit of the doubt, but also knew that no decent woman would stay in a relationship with such a horrible human being as Donald Trump. Nor would a loving mother allow her child to be raised daily in such a deceitful environment. Stephanie, I admire your loyalty and dedication to Melania, even after you left the White House. Stay honest and true to yourself and you should have nothing but brighter days ahead. Thank you for bravely bringing your story to us. Go forward with grace.

Eye opening and believable

Wow. What a listen. This woman went thru the ringer for the woman she thought was a dear friend. I believe every word she says and that her intentions were true. It lines up with everything else the “president” and his horrible family show themselves to be by those willing to hear the truth. Couldn’t stop listening. I wish the best to Mrs. Winston-Wolkoff and hope she can get her life back at some point.

Wow

All I can say is trump married someone like him, no soul. As the 3 oldest trump kids. How sad. Worth the read and I appreciate Stephanie opening up, I find it truthful and sad.

Not a lot of sympathy for the author

This book is a very important first-hand account of the graft and corruption that surrounded the inaugural events in 2017.
Beyond that, however, I was left questioning the author's basic judgement of character. The Melania she describes as her dear friend for years before the White House does not sound much different from the Melania we see in the media. She's aloof, uninterested, and vapid. So, when SWW's dear friend makes it to the White House, she justifies voting for and working for this administration as a "Greater Good" move due to all the world-changing work she and Melania will be able to do.
What ensues, of course, is grievous series of betrayals and let-downs that leads SWW to realize the obvious: MKT is not much different that DJT. And, even if she is, she's not going to do a damn thing different.
The author goes to great pain many times to exclaim that she stayed in the White House to protect Melania, especially from Ivanka. Why? To what end? Did you really think it would change? In the end it reads like Real Housewives meets House of Cards. The author was not a victim. She'll be just fine. She was, as DJT would say, a sucker.
