Naive

The writer said it herself “I broke my back, literally, for a emojis.”

For such an accomplished woman to have such a weirdly unbalanced friendship with basically a well-dressed ice cube is frustrating. But more power to her. Live and learn. Feel so badly for her. Hope she gets back on track.

A hero in her truth.

I thank you Stephanie, for being brave and showing strength in sharing your truth. Although I was sad for what these people put you through, I am truly happy that you have been able to shine so bright in the aftermath. Bless you and your family, may your future be filled with the love and kindness you project. Our country is a better place with people like you at the wheel.

Gutsy and Needed

My wife and I listened to the story on our 11 hour trip to Michigan. We felt like we were standing there with Stephanie, very believable. We felt her blind dedication and eventual betrayal. We wish her the best in her healing process. Thank you for your courage.

Fascinating view of the worst White House

An amazing story from beginning to end about a fascinating side story the corruption of this Administration and it's toxic environment.
Having done some event planning, the lead up to the Inauguration was harrowing, and what followed was no less so.
It has the feeling like a horror movie, where I kept wanting to shout to the author, "Don't go in there! The First Lady is just using you! RUN!!"
I'm so glad Mrs Walkoff was able to get away with her sanity and share this incredible tale.

More confirmation of the diabolical nature of the Trumps

Stephanie Winston was run through the ringer, used, abused and cast off. She had the best of intentions and was seduced by the Trumps and then thrown under the bus.

The book is further confirmation that the Trumps are criminals.

Don't know if I'll finish this.

The recording sounds like it was done with the narrator wearing a mask? I found the narration a little choppy with pauses in places where there shouldn't be pauses which I tried to ignore. A lot of authors are narrating their own books and I see now why some choose to use professional readers. The story grabs you from the beginning. I found the insights into the personality of the first lady enlightening. From the time the author enters the white house it is one disorganized circus after another which goes on for quite awhile and which could have been summed up but perhaps the detail is the make the book longer. The author comes across as a genuine friend who had Melania's interests at heart, but also seems to be torn as she witnesses the unfolding of an un-presidential administration. Many of the acronyms she uses are unfamiliar to people outside of government and made the story confusing at times.

Meh

There really is no one very likable in this story. Melania is a cold fish and the author is a bit whiny and spoiled. She knew pretty much what Melania was like before she became First Lady, yet seemed surprised when she ended up being cold shouldered out of the White House.

Narration (by the author) isn't very good. SWW reads quite quickly and it becomes monotonous after a while. I really didn't learn anything new after listening to this book and that is what is most disappointing.
