“Warm-hearted, clear-minded, and unexpectedly spellbinding, Meet Me at the Museum is a novel to savor.” — Annie Barrows, #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

In Denmark, Professor Anders Larsen, an urbane man of facts, has lost his wife and his hopes for the future. On an isolated English farm, Tina Hopgood is trapped in a life she doesn’t remember choosing. Both believe their love stories are over.

Brought together by a shared fascination with the Tollund Man, subject of Seamus Heaney’s famous poem, they begin writing letters to one another. And from their vastly different worlds, they find they have more in common than they could have imagined. As they open up to one another about their lives, an unexpected friendship blooms. But then Tina’s letters stop coming, and Anders is thrown into despair. How far are they willing to go to write a new story for themselves?

This was an unexpected pleasure to read. I found myself wanting to hear more and more. The book is quite slowly paced but completely satisfying and intriguing. I absolutely loved this story and this author. Thumbs up all the way!

Gentle but captivating and satisfying love story

I was wondering if I’d like this format of letters, but I soon got into it and enjoyed. Narration was also good.

I liked it!

but still really enjoyable. I loved it. narrators were perfect capturing their characters, gender, personality and culture so well that I am pretty sure I know exactly what they look like.

thought and a bit of predictable

Such a lovely story. This may be one of my favorites. It started out slow, and I almost quit. I'm so glad I pressed on.

I had listened to “The Narrowboat Summer,” Youngson’s second book first and immediately purchased this one as well, especially as Helen Lloyd reads both stories. I liked this story line and the telling through letters even more. I wish Youngson would write a sequel, although the format would have to be different. Although I can guess what the plot would be, I would prefer to hear it through the voices of Lloyd and Knudsen! Just what I needed to hear in these troubled times.

Love the Narration!

This marvelous story written letters is I think best listened to so the reader/listener can fully contemplate all the great questions raised about the choices we make as circumstances present themselves in our lives, and as we choose how fully we participate in our relationships.

Deceptively complex for such a little book

I loved The Narrowboat Summer and wanted to read more from the author. I was worried it wouldn’t be as thoughtful, as quietly moving. A needless worry. Youngson has a way with words that makes what would seem on the surface to be a slow meandering story and making it captivating and thought provoking. I look forward to more from her.
