Resumen del Editor

Audiobook exclusive: original and never-before-released music from the author, Margo Price.

When Margo Price was nineteen years old, she dropped out of college and moved to Nashville to become a musician. She busked on the street, played open mics, and even threw out her TV so that she would do nothing but write songs. She met Jeremy Ivey, a fellow musician who would become her closest collaborator and her husband. But after working on their craft for more than a decade, Price and Ivey had no label, no band, and plenty of heartache.

Maybe We’ll Make It is a memoir of loss, motherhood, and the search for artistic freedom in the midst of the agony experienced by so many aspiring musicians: bad gigs and long tours, rejection and sexual harassment, too much drinking, and barely enough money to live on. Price, though, refused to break and turned her lowest moments into the classic country songs that eventually comprised the debut album that launched her career. In the authentic voice hailed by Pitchfork for tackling "Steinbeck-sized issues with no-bullshit humility," Price shares the stories that became songs and the small acts of love and camaraderie it takes to survive in a music industry that is often unkind to women. Now a Grammy-nominated “Best New Artist,” Price tells a love story of music, collaboration, and the struggle to build a career while trying to maintain her singular voice and style.

Candid, heart-wrenching, true

I originally didn’t listen to her music, but we grew up in the same small town so I felt I owed it to her to listen to her story. I suppose I’m biased in that way, I felt for her so strongly as she described her experience in her (our) hometown, and how she dreamed of so much more. As an aspiring artist, hers was a hard story to listen to. It seems to require so much suffering to “make it” in any big, notable way as someone coming from with-out the industry or any legs up. I respect the hell out of her, her voice, and her persistence. And her music should go down in history. True country.

Absolutely beautiful!

Margo has such a beautiful soul and presence about her. It’s like the sun breaking through the clouds after a storm. The audio version is so special with all the songs added in. Margo, thank you for sharing your story with us, can’t wait to see you take the stage again.

Loved This!

I love memoirs and this one was so raw and down to earth. A concept shared herein was how cruel some people in our world can be. We have to do better. Not to be a spoiler, but, Margo has “Made It”, at least in my opinion. She’s beautiful inside and out. I thank her so very much for sharing her story!

Hell yes!

So great! Maybe one of the best audiobooks/biographies out there. Might even be better than The Storyteller. Thank you for sharing your story Margo!

Honest and relatable

Raw and honest account of the authors journey as a musician, a wife, a mother, and a survivor. She does not shy away from sharing her struggles with addiction, loss, poverty, and sexism in the music industry. She also celebrates her resilience, creativity, love, and faith that helped her overcome the odds and achieve her dreams. This book is a testament to Price’s courage and talent as a songwriter and storyteller. Anyone who has ever faced hardship or chased a passion will find something to relate to in this inspiring book.
