Resumen del Editor

Number-one New York Times best-selling author returns with another thrilling story from the Casebook of Barnaby Adair…

Miraculously spared from death, Malcolm Sinclair erases the notorious man he once was. Reinventing himself as Thomas Glendower, he strives to make amends for his past, yet he never imagines penance might come via a secretive lady he discovers living in his secluded manor.

Rose has a plausible explanation for why she and her children are residing in Thomas's house, but she quickly realizes he's far too intelligent to fool. Revealing the truth is impossibly dangerous, yet day by day he wins her trust, and then her heart.

But then her enemy closes in, and Rose turns to Thomas as the only man who can protect her and the children. And when she asks for his help, Thomas finally understands his true purpose, and with unwavering commitment, he seeks his redemption the only way he can - through living the reality of loving Rose.

Mystery and Romance

Must read the Taste of Innocence first before reading this book as it is the continuation of the character Malcom Sinclair, who in this book is now called Thomas. Recovering from his injuries from his fall from the bridge, Thomas is now helping others financially. Going to his home that he purchased long ago, he meets Rose and her family, who is acting as caretakers. Rose is hiding her family from a potential murderer, who wants to kill her half brother who is heir. This a great story and very enjoyable. Napoleon Ryan does a wonderful job as a narrator.

Good balance of mystery & romance

If you are dabbling in Stephanie Laurens books, this is a sequel to The Taste of Innocence - you'll need to read that first. I'm usually disappointed when I don't get Simon Prebble as a narrator, but Napoleon Ryan does a good job* with a light hand. Some of Laurens' novels are really heavy on the sex, and I actually am enjoying the Adair series with a more balanced combination of mystery and plot twists . For once, we don't have a guy trying to seduce a woman with sex, but a mutual attraction borne out of love. I was up until 5am finishing this dang thing!
*One exception: when I asked my English husband if anybody ever says Gros-ven-or square, he looked at me like I had two heads.

Glad Malcolm Sinclair escaped his watery grave

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. One of the delights of Ms Laurens books is the community of characters that you get to know and make your own. Malcolm Sinclair was very intriguing and his death was a loss of a great character. I'm glad he came back and is the hero he wanted to be.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The experience at the monastery and how he used those lessons even though it was a struggle. It took way to long for him to see his fate.

Which scene was your favorite?

The beginning. The acceptance of his loss of beauty and physical agility set up the whole story and made Sinclair a believable hero.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Malcolm returns.

Any additional comments?

The fact that he was waiting for his fate was overdone. I think he needed to buy into the fact that fate or as I believe God's foresight is often right in front of us much sooner.

An entertaining story

What made the experience of listening to Loving Rose the most enjoyable?

Story was interesting

What was one of the most memorable moments of Loving Rose?

When Thomas was found on the beach

What does Napoleon Ryan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Yes for sure. the only trouble is that when the narrator is a man, he ends up messing up the woman's voices and if a woman is narrating then men's voices are messed up but still and all together it was a reasonable job. not that I could do any better I might add.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Not a good enough book for a film, but if I did it would be something like second chances?

Marvelous Storyline!

The story was unexpected but well worth the read. The developments were intriguing and well defined. I was clearly on board with Thomas and cheered when he raced head on into the consequences.

Laurens Delivers Again!

Loving Rose is the story of an extraordinary man, made all the more intriguing because of his flaws, and Rose an independent, intelligent, forward-thinking woman. There is mystery, romance and such tender moments that I found myself shedding a tear or two. I appreciate the boldness of Lauren's heroines and the vulnerability of the men in her stories. Once I transitioned my ears to a male narrator, I thoroughly enjoyed Napoleon Ryan's reading of the text. His low, gravely voice is sexy and he is quite able to provide a variety of voices to suit the various characters in the book. I loved the Cynsters' Series and this book follows a similar style and tone that makes me want to read everything Stephanie Laurens has ever written!

one of the better stories from Stephanie Laurens.

This particular character was introduced in other Cynster novels. He was a bit of a tragic figure with a touch genius. Laurens has written one of her better stories with this tale of redemption. The story flowed well and the strong female heroine was likeable. The narrator did a good job with the voices, not distracting from the story. I'd read or listen to this again.
