Resumen del Editor

Jun’s not better than me, but we might be perfect together.

Jun’s been a thorn in my side for years. Its only gotten worse since we’re both going after the same promotion. Being in the same room with him makes my heart pound. It’s anger. I can’t let it be anything else.

My family expects me to be the best. I have to earn this promotion and prove that belong on top. But when I catch Jun staring at me with heat in his eyes, medicine is the last thing on my mind. He’s not supposed to be into guys. Could he be into me?

I’ll show him who belongs on top.

Failure isn’t an option, and that’s not a problem...except when it comes to Kairo. The perfectionist doctor has been my only competition since medical school. He’s the only surgeon to ever best me. He’s my biggest rival, and I’m pretty sure he hates me, but he makes me feel...alive.

For years, we’ve sidestepped one another. Now, he’s awakened tantalizing feelings in me that I’ve been trying to ignore for most of my life. Being gay won’t fly in my conservative family. How can I consider coming out before I know he feels the same?

Sparks fly in Love Hurts when Jun and Kairo finally succumb to the forbidden desires that have simmered under the surface for years in this full-length contemporary m/m romance audiobook.

Beautifully written friends to lovers! Love Kairo and Jun!!!

Love Hurts is the Caldwell Brothers book 6, Kairo’s story. He’s the oldest brother and definitely my favorite in the series! I’ve loved them all but I think Bates and Lyda saved the best one for last! It’s so beautifully written and I loved the delicious enemies to lover’s HAF story between Kairo and Jun! It’s definitely one that was hard for me to pause for even a second! I’ve loved each and every one of the Caldwell brothers stories so much and I’m just so sad that it’s over. I really enjoyed narrator Austin Jays voices and theatrics making this audiobook come to life! Great job!

Kairo and Jun

Love Hurts is book 6, and the last book, in the Caldwell Brothers series. I love this beautifully written enemies to lovers story about Kairo and Jun. Kairo and Jun have been competing since med school, so when they were both up for the chief of staff position at the hospital their competitive nature came out. But something else happened as they developed less than hateful feelings for each other. I really enjoyed Kairo and Jun's journey as they discovered their love for each other and Jun's self acceptance as he went after what he wanted and not what his parents want for him. Definitely recommend this book and series.
Narrator Austin Jay does a marvelous job.

The last of the Caldwell's

I am so sad that this is the last Caldwell brother to fall. I love the whole family! But I have to say that I think the best was saved for last. Cairo and Jun's story was so great. Jun had to face up to his sexuality and the fact that his family would never accept him. Their loss for sure. The Caldwell's will make up for that. I guess that's a wrap. Hopefully there will be a reunion story in the future!

Kairo Caldwell's Enemies-to-Lovers Romance

Oldest Caldwell brother Kairo gets his chance at love in this final book of the 'Caldwell Brothers' romance series. Kairo and Jun have been bitter rivals since medical school. Their competition for top physician at the hospital begins to stir up Jun's long-repressed attraction to Kairo. Will Jun accept his sexuality and choose love with Kairo over the demands of his ultra-conservative parents?

There's some medium-angst in the telling of Jun's journey to his true self. Thankfully, the authors don't torture the readers too heavily with it (I'm angst-phobic). Jun's struggles in coming out are realistic. Kairo is Jun's support system while he explores his newly-admitted sexuality, which make for some steamy scenes. Family also plays a big part in the story. The authors do a nice job contrasting the loving Caldwell family against Jun's overbearing parents. The ending neatly completes the family theme of the entire series.

Austin Jay's narrating is a tad over-dramatic for my taste, but it's not to the point of distraction. All-in-all it's a good performance.

Rivals To Lovers

Love this story eventhough I hate to see this series end. I've seen Kairo throughout all of his brothers' stories and their HEAs as he stood by each one of them with his unwavering support. I'm so glad he finally got his HEA! Jun and Kairo have been professional rivals for years and now are up for the same job. As they work alongside one another, their chemistry is unavoidable but Jun is deep in the closet because of his family. They have a few bumps along the way but I love their well deserved HEA. The narrator did a great job with the characters and with the story itself. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.

Dr. Jun Park...ugh!

This was a truly painful even if powerful story. I really didn't like Dr. Jun Park a whole lot for half this story and wondered what exactly Dr. Kairo Caldwell saw in him. And the reason for his animosity, after all this time, is juvenile and ridiculous. Although Kairo isn't perfect, at least he's far less uniformly awful than Jun. Yes, the reasons for Jun's belligerent and fearful behavior -- his horrid, rigid, homophobic parents -- and for his inability to recognize, admit, and own his feelings are understandable, but it doesn't really make him any more likable. And that whole accusation against Kairo for what has really been all on him is shitty on every level. He really ruined what should have been a wonderful love story with his attitudes. God bless his best friend Micah...his patience with Jun is remarkable. The secondary characters -- Kairo's parents who are in stark contrast to Jun's, Jun's aunt, and Kair's brothers -- provide great support for the MCs. The narration was well done.
