My thoughts

A good story by Elizabeth Rose, but here is my full disclosure: she wrote the characters well- Lord Corbett needed a good smack upside his dense head, the Baroness was insufferable, the Baron a doll, Malcolm- I hated at first, but grew to like, and Devon... Devon I did not like. I yelled at her, I wanted to throttle her or even smack her at times! But the hero loves whom he loves. I also need to admit I wasn't overly fond of the narrator- he did well in the general reading of the story & a couple of the characters, but the rest, meh. As always, use headphones for the bedroom scenes if children are present. 😉

The talented Elizabeth Rose brings to life the time period of this series. A winner

Great story!

As I listened, I realized that I have read this book before. I love Devon and her story. Corbit was a bit of a jerk, but then I guess all men were back then. I've not been reading many historical romances lately so it took a little time to get back in the feel of it. The characters and setting were great. There was some mystery and suspense. The narrator did a good job. I've been listening to some great narrators so that also took a little getting used to. Overall, I'm glad I listened to it.

He met his match!

This is a great story. It is captivating, intriguing and has a sassy heroine. It was a lot of fun mixed with wonderful romance. A must have.

Nice story, but ...

She was a tad bit Overly Dramatic throughout the whole book. It tempted me to skip forward past some of her witless fumblings. But, I resisted the urge. The guy was a little irritating too. Maybe all of that was intended. Some parts were predictable. I really liked the ending. I was wondering if they would do that one Other thing, and they did. Nice job on that part. Good narration too. The narrator's voice and tone bring more depth to the story. I could listen to him recite the alphabet and be just fine 🙂

Elizabeth can keep my attention with the great tales she spins! It was well plotted and steadily built up with the twists and turns.
Kevin has the perfect accents for all of the characters! He kept me locked in.

Intriguing secret identity plot

I enjoyed the secret identity plot and the medieval setting. I'm looking forward to jumping into the next book in the series.

Be careful for what you wish for

Lord Corbett is trying to win back his good family name. The King says he must marry a lady or forfeit his title. This is hard, how can he marry without love and still fulfill his quest. Devon has lived in secret with the monks. A commoner, but with a Lady's aura. She has been brought to the castle as a maid, and fights Corbett every chance she gets. Will their lives cross to fulfill a dynasty? Follow their journey. Great narration and story.

Elizabeth Rose does it again

a phenomenal storyline that will have you mentally doing acrobats trying to figure out what's going on I love this kind of book everything is in it romance suspense mystery I didn't have it totally figured out until the end awesome job Miss Rose love this book I'm going to read it again and listen to it again

Melting heart

I love this story of a hardened knight who doesn’t think he is worthy or should love due to a tragedy in his family’s past. He wants to right a wrong or sees as a wrong. I love this feisty heroine who through true grit makes the hero find what he didn’t think he needed. The narrator kept me entertained and engaged. This story had many twists and turns, hoping that a HEA would happen. I highly recommend this story. Received a credit for an honest review.
