Daniel had been a mercenary longer than his soul could take. On that final job, looking down at the face of an angel whose death he'd been responsible for, he knew he was done. And although he hadn't pulled the trigger on the bullets that took her life, he felt like he had. He'd buried her in a hidden grave in the Canadian woods so no one would desecrate her lovely body. From the mission site in Vancouver, he'd headed north to the most inhospitable place he could think of to try to find peace that he knew he didn't deserve. But after a year of dreams, her face was as vivid as it had been that day. There would be no peace for a guilty man.
Eillia had been killed and buried. Buried by someone who did not know she was vampire... that bullets would not kill her forever. But beheading would. Which is how her centuries-long love affair with Hamid ended in an attack a year ago. She didn't know how to pick up the pieces of her life without him. All she wanted was to crawl back in a hole like the one she'd crawled out of that day. And she had. Lost, in pain, she'd gone north and buried herself in the land of the midnight sun until darkness came and she thought that maybe she might be able to think about living her life again.
See how it plays out for a vampire and human who should never have met at all.

Eillia I loved in previous books. But I hate to say I also enjoyed Tamesine and hope to learn more about her issues in future installments.Have you listened to any of Natalie Duke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
She is a very well spoken narrator so I enjoyed this audible book. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The explosion that takes yet another vampires life and leaves Eillia and the others clinging. Is he dreaming?

Narrator Natalie Duke does a fantastic job with her performance of this story. I had no trouble identifying the characters as the narrator used her talents delivering all the accents, multiple voices, and she amazed me as she brought this story to life. I truly felt like I was there inside this story watching it as everything played out. Overall, a 5 star rating!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you were into PNR..you betcha! What other book might you compare Longest Days to and why?
It's PNR and unique..Have you listened to any of Natalie Duke’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not, but I would!Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Both!Any additional comments?
I wasn't sure when I saw the narrator change, but I loved it! I think Natalie nailed it..just as good as Pyper...possibly even smoother than Pyper...Pyper has a certain cadence, its unique...Kind of like Marguerite Gavin...I love this story, and how all these books can be taken as stand alone, but tie into each other...Eillia and Daniel were meant to be, and I am on to book 4!!!LOVED EILLIA'S STORY!!!!!
