And what would Jason be without Viola, his better half, a woman who bakes, gardens, and keeps her husband from taking himself too seriously?
Some communities are odd, some communities are not odd - surely that is a matter that a community can decide for itself. This witty romp through subdivision living unfolds through droll stories about lawns and dogs, tempests and triumphs, and how the eccentric residents of Pine Hills entwine.
As usual, Jason relies on the other members of the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) club for their wise counsel and their comic relief. Of course, there will be plenty of drama as folks deal with maintaining their homes and their sanity, and wrestling with the big stakes that come with truly small issues. And for those dying to know more about how Jason got to be the way he is, there is a nice visit with Helen, his mother, in her active senior community, a place not immune from the full scope of zaniness.
