As I read the book, it was as if he was speaking about my life. I wonder how many have said this after reading the book lol!Seriously though, the dysfunction, trauma, etc.I remember growing up when people would call me “Mrs.Know it All” and “Mrs.Perfect.”They still do until this day.But it has always been my hunger for knowledge and never settling for what people tell me, but to learn on my own.This book gave me insight on my life from a different lens and it most definitely helped me analyze myself as it relates to my past relationships and even friendships.I owe some people some apologies.It was an eye opener.Who would have known that there was a male version of me!Who would have known that other people experienced what I’ve been experiencing all of my life on this level!I thought I was all alone.Now I understand why my spirit was drawn to this book.I too am the the middle child and experienced several traumas growing up even near death experiences and who would have known the correlation to striving to be perfect was to mask
imperfection beneath.This book was breathtaking.I had butterflies the entire time because it seemed too surreal to be reading about the male version of myself.My expectation is to one day sit across from Mr.Franklin and share our similarities.I feel that is a realistic expectation(all smiles over here).Thanks for the great read Mr.Franklin.Now on to “The Wait”!

I love that DeVon was brutally honest about his own struggles. His story inspires me to continue aligning with the truest version of self.
