Oh Canyon

What did you love best about Let It Be Me?

This is going to be very vague review because you just have to listen to this book....You need to experience it! I loved Arianna and Canyon...I was intrigued right from the start and kept wanting to know what was the cause of both of their troubles. It had the right amount intrigue to keep the reader engaged. I couldn't wait for everything to fall into place.

I liked that Arianna wasn't some stupid girl. She was interesting and I thought fairly mature for her age. I like how Canyon and Arianna start off as friends and things blossom from there. They just seemed to connect after that funny start or meeting I should say.

This was full of angst, twists and turns that I was not expecting!

I LOVED the cover...rawr it's hot!

What other book might you compare Let It Be Me to and why?

What about Lauren Sweet’s performance did you like?

I thought she did a good job. I am more a dual POV person and enjoy male voices added to the story, but she did a good job with his voice. I thought that her voice for Shelby was irritating though. I loved the character as she's a sweetie, but the voice annoyed me.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Together we can conquer everything....together

I hated her step-dick! I want to throat punch him and knee him in the balls quite a few times. And her mother..ugh! This is a must listen or read....Barbara did a fantastic job with the storyline, the characters....I can't wait for more!

I was given this audiobook for an honest review

5 Brilliant Star’s

I really wasn't sure what to expect with this audio. When I see 17 year old, I always get a little apprehensive thinking the books going to be a little on the immature side and so I brace myself. NO need with this one if anything this girl/women Arianna is more mature then a lot of adults I know including me! :D

Ok so we meet Arianna and her family, I love her sister! Arianna is so so so good with her I loved that relationship throughout the whole book, these girls melt you heart I swear it.
Anyways they are new the town and right away you don’t like the step-dad he is a grade A douche you want to push in to the lake. Her mother isn't any better. So already you have all these feels and then the girl has to start her last 2 months of her senior year of high school in a place she doesn't want to be and who doesn't want drama just to get through so she can get out.

Oh can’t forget hunky dunky Canyon, ya with a name like that you so know he owns it. He is everything Arianna isn't looking for. He complicates everything in good and bad ways. She doesn't want to get attached to this place only she can’t help it. Canyon helps her and becomes her friend and so so much more.

This is an emotional roller-coaster of a book I cried and even now thinking about it brings tears to my eyes I said to my husband who was giving me a hard time about being a softy, I told him ‘look when an author can make me have to find the tissue it’s one hell of a book… go back to our sports news and leave me be.’ Lol

There are a lot of story lines going on in this book but they all just fit so well. I want more! Here is my favorite line.
“That one of you smiles beats down all of the bad in my day.” - Arianna

Misleading title to a great story.

I didn't quite understand the titles reference but I am glad I had the chance to listen to this book. Lauren Sweet did a fantastic job of narration and moved effortlessly between male and female characters. I have become a fan.
Barbara's writing is more sophisticated than I expected with this type of book and I really enjoyed the way she spun this tale. There were some unexpected turns in the story which added real depth to the overall appeal to the book.
Without giving away any spoilers, I was a bit taken a back by the 'attitude' of the main character about what she was into in the build up to the story reveal. I also found it quite amusing how many times the word 'shower' was used in this book. I mean it's great to be clean but it felt like the same line was used in every chapter.
I would gladly recommend the book, the author and the narrator. It's a book that I will listen to again.

Let it be me...

OK this book drove me a little bit crazy. I kept wanting to know about the past and I felt like every time I was getting close the characters revealed nothing but I kept going and glad I did. I liked the narrator but you know what I think her voicing Shelby is what drove me nuts too. received book in exchange for honest review

Let it be me

This was a really awesome story. The story grabbed my attention from the start. It was hard to stop listening. Their were some unexpected twist and turns. Of course I love horses and really all animals, so the barn incident broke my heart. But it has a nice wrapped up ending!

Gut gripping emotional book.

This book is such an emo much moret loveional roller coaster that keeps you glued to the pages. You can't help but think how much more can they endure. Then the strength, the love and the pure joy at life that always wins makes you believe.
The narrater Lauren Sweet has become my favorite. She truly made me believe I was right there in the book with her. I will be looking for more books she has done.

When I first saw this was a 17-year girl story I was prepared not to get into it....it's not the kinda story I like to read.....but as I listened I really started to get interested. This book held my attention. I laughed out loud an I cried real tears. The narrator did a fantastic job with the characters. If your looking for a book that will make you feel all the feels....weather or not you enjoy reading YA...this is the book for you.

This book is more than it's sexy cover!

I really liked Arianna and Canyon. I can’t imagine anyone not liking them. ESPECIALLY Canyon! The story grabbed me right from the beginning with a good amount of suspense. It was obvious that they both had a past to deal with that was affecting how they lived in the present. I couldn’t wait to find out what had happened to them that got them to where they were.

I liked the narrator, Lauren Sweet. She did a good job reading the book. However, the voice that she used for Arianna’s little sister Shelby was a bit grating at first but eventually I was ok with it, probably because Shelby was a super sweet and very smart girl.

Also, I do like to stare at this cover… I may have stared at it a couple times just while I was typing this. Two words: YES, PLEASE!

I am now looking forward to listening to the follow up book Let It Be Us to find out where Arianna and Canyon go next.

All the feelings! I laughed and cried throughout this book. Narrator did amazing at bringing all of the emotions to life. The teenage angst, mingled with adult situations and how the characters handled them had to have been a nightmare for the author but she handled it with such grace.
