Resumen del Editor

From the author of Good as Gone (“So gripping you might want to start to question your own family’s past” (Entertainment Weekly)) comes a brilliant and timely thriller: Strangers on a Train by way of Thelma and Louise.

Dana Diaz is an aspiring stand up comedian - a woman in a man’s world. When she meets a tough computer programmer named Amanda Dorn, the two bond over their struggles in boys’ club professions. Dana confides that she’s recently been harassed and assaulted while in L.A., and Amanda comes up with a plan: they should go after each other’s assailants, Strangers on a Train-style. But Dana finds that revenge, however sweet, draws her into a more complicated series of betrayals. Soon her distrust turns to paranoia, encompassing strangers, friends - and even herself. At what cost will she get her vengeance? Who will end up getting hurt? And when it’s all over, will there be anyone left to trust?

Gripping suspense

Loved it. Surprising twists. The character of Dana comes through as relatable and real. I was with her all the way.

Another Winner

Waited for a second novel after reading Good as Gone. What I loved about the first book was it’s ability to entertain while also having the hallmarks of a well written story- it spoke to me on several levels. I wasn’t sure if “Last Woman Standing” could do the same- but it did! It is gritty and timely. Several themes bundled up with the very current topics of misogyny, sexual objectification and violence towards women. I didn’t think I would find the story as compelling as I did. It gets better and better. Still not sure about the narration. Sometimes it worked for me, other times not. But- in all- great story. Still thinking about it.

I couldn't take anymore

Dana started out as a strong character. After Jason's character entered the story, I could not endure the narrator's whining version of Dana's voice. Although the narrator was otherwise good. I truly tried to hang in for the last 1.5 hours of the story. Adult subject matter written like a bad YA novel.
