I Love this Series!

This book was a nice addition to the series. To find out exactly how Jack left working in a firm and branched off on his own. Bold For his clients, he fights against the odds. If you don’t know Jake Lassiter and this series then it’s time to get to know both! Luke Daniels is my preferred narrator for Jake, great job!

Loved this Prequel

What did you love best about Last Chance Lassiter?

For Jake Lassitter fans this prequel made a lot of sense and explains the beginnings of why he despises big law firms. It also explains the beginnings of his code of conduct for life. The story itself was believable (for a Jake Lassiter story, that is; I don't know many lawyers who would prod a would-be client into hitting them with a baseball bat), simple and easy to listen in one sitting. I only gave it four stars because I reserve the fifth star for books that will be unforgettable many years from now. I liked this book but I'm not sure I'll remember the details several years from now.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Last Chance Lassiter?

I liked the dialogue with the psychiatrist when she is evaluating him for anger management issues and she keeps on provoking him by calling him Wrong Way instead of his name. He doesn't bite but when she asks him if it makes him angry when she calls him Wrong Way he calls the whole evaluation bull shit and wants to leave. She warns him that if he leaves she will have to tell the Judge Buxtrom that that he is having difficulty controlling his anger. He yells back that he is not angry, G-d Dam it!

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved when he showed up in his old law office to negotiate with Lyle Krippendorf and Silky, Krippendorf's client, in Miami Dolphin sweat pants and a T shirt that said: A friend helps you move...A real friend helps you move a body;. Typical Lassiter humor. A second instance is the scene in the Bar Arbitration Hearing. It exemplified in a cartoonish way the worst of the system, when all in the system already have a preconceived notion of what happened regardless of the facts. I liked it, in a perverse way.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Easily did listen in one sitting.

Any additional comments?

I recommend this book highly to all Jake Lassiter fans.

Checks all the boxes

This story does its job without exacting a high cost from the reader. I wanted to get back to the story after each occasion to set it down. Well done!

Perfect story line and execution via narration!

Perfect story line and execution via narration. Have yet to listen to an audible where the writing paired so well with the reader’s narration. Will definitely be checking out the other books in this series.

Enjoying the series.

I have found myself gradually warming to the Jake Lassiter series. it's just entertainment without overly taxing mind with complexity or numerous characters to keep track of. I didnt think I would ever be drawn into courtroom and legal procedure, but the author weaves those details into the story to make the outcome intriguing to the very end.

I can't tolerate an unprofessional narration, and Luke Daniels does an excellent job bringing the story to life. Five stars on this account.

Attorneys and the musician

This book was exciting and full of twists and turns. This attorney , ex football player, was quite the character. I liked how he never gave up.

Another lively Jake Lassiter adventure

I've truly enjoyed each of the Jake Lassiter books. Paul Levine creates a very enjoyable and flowing dialog that kept this reader hooked on each word. Add to the written word the vocal performances by Luke Daniels and you have the perfect literary experience. This is my 8th and final book (so far) in the Jake Lassiter Series. if you choose to add these to your library, you will not be disappointed.

Good legal thriller short story

Although this short story is listed as novel 9 in the Jake Lassiter series, it is really a series prequel. It takes place chronologically prior to book 1 in the series when Jack is just setting off on his own legal practice. As usual Luke Daniels does a great job of narration.
