Resumen del Editor

Return now to a kingdom in constant peril: a scarred land, both magical and wonderous. New York Times best-selling author Raymond E. Feist continues his extraordinary Riftwar Legacy with a sweeping tale of conflict and intrigue.

The vile sorcerer Sidi sets the murderous pirate Bear upon the high seas in pursuit of the kingdom's most holy object, the miraculous Tear of the Gods. And if it falls to Sidi, the future will hold naught but unending night.

The race is on to rescue the remarkable artifact from Bear and his despicable master. But it will take greater-than-human swiftness, courage, and skill to prevail, for the mysterious criminal known as the Crawler is preparing to wreak havoc to fulfill his secret agenda. The fate of an imperiled world is in flux, as dark creatures gather to hasten the destruction of Squire James and his companions and bring about the total corruption of the Tear of the Gods.

One night of roleplaying written down.

Probably the worst book of Feist's career. Complete waste. Not even a slight contribution to broader story. We as readers need to stop demanding new material and let him write on his own time. This is what happens when a writer has to publish on a schedule. Poorly written hurry up filler stories. King does the same thing and it's just irritating at this point.

good story not so good narrator

story was good, sort of rushed but still good. narrator seemed as if he was speed reading and the music in-between chapters sucked. Also the echo was not needed.

Good book,overly performed.

Overall I enjoyed the story of this book, as I do most by this author, but this one and the krondor the Betrayal both read like D&D module that someone has played and there telling me about the adventure or an adventure I could set up for my own campaign. It does give some nice backstory for some characters play large parts later books. The person reading it has a lovely voice but the included reverb was of noxious. In my opinion it is over performed and overly dramatic.

Not his best but good...

I am a pretty big fan of Raymond E. Feist. I've read several if his books several times over. All his books are good however if I had to choose one to give up it would be this book I think. It just doesn't have the same substance as his other books.
The narrator doesn't fit the characters. I much prefer the narrator used in his other audio books such as a Kings Buccaneer or Shadow of a Dark Queen. I really did not like the "Sherlock styled narrative".

Probably the worst of all the Feist books. I liste

cheap story, not great narration. annoying music/dramatization. Worst of Feist books for sure. Don't buy

the only reason why performance got 4 stars.

so I did not give it a full 5 stars because the audio sounds echoey sometimes like the reader is in a small room or something. but besides that it was wonderful

ABRIDGED VERSION! Why?? Full version only 6HRS

I love Raymond Feist and his Midkemia vision. This is the fourth
Trilogy stemming from first (Riftwar-Magician,Apprentice Book1).

I prefer Whispersync versions (Kindle linked witj
Audiobook) but often buy the two seperately. I started reading the Kindle version, then decided to restart the entire book and listen to Audio version but it skipped:
1. The first chapter
2. Best action scenes
3. Funny and intimate character building scenes.

The Abridged (Audio) version was the only one I could find so I kept it. There was also silly music in the background (like in a childrens book) at certain times- possibly to notify reader that section was abridged. The narrator, while I have liked his other books, used more childish voices for main characters than I’d have thought reasonable given the content.
So, disappointing, incomplete audio experience for a GREAT STORY.

Not the best story

I am a big fan of Raymond Feist but not a big fan of this book. The story was not what I expected.

The audio had an echo through out the recording. You could get use to it, but not for long. If listen through headphones or ear buds it is more pronounced.
