Fantastic second installment

This follow up to book one was nothing short of OUTSTANDING! The PLOT thickens, we see further behind the curtains into the shadows of the powers that be and Eric's growing role in their machinations.
the narrator is so freaking good at the characters, and communicating the emotions involved.
if you are on the fence about this, allow me to knock you over the edge. BUY THIS BOOK!

Great continuation of the story. Solid character development. Great tie ins to folk lore and mythology.

good story I want more so I hope to hear more in the future the story really is impressive and I think the character is someone we can all relate to

Amazing story ruined by childish early teen "romance"

The story is great, the setting is interesting, the plot and lore are awesome. Then there's the MC falling head over heels for a wasteland girl who makes Colin seem pleasant to be around with how insufferable she is.

These are supposed to be young adults yet they act like tweens who just discovered boys and girls have different parts that are suddenly interesting. We get amazing lore and combat and then it's ruined by sad teenager sounds as our MC goes from badass to baby in moments.

I'm more upset that something so interesting and good flayed itself by using "I don't know how to talk to girls, they make my tummy feel weird." as a plot point for otherwise deep and thought out characters.
