Listening to this book was absolutely awesome! I was hooked right from the start. Tristan has a life of bad habits so it was interesting to hear about his softer side. It is always nice to read an alpha male evening out when they meet their special someone(s).

This one will draw you in and have you wearing ear buds doing simple things just to keep listening. It is definitely worth the read my friends.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

loved it

This is a very creative story. It centers around Tristan and Serene. Tristan has been dating a group of Krov women without knowing it. The women manipulated him. Tristan also had a virus. The humans don't know anything about the existence of Krovs. I don't think I could've forgiven all of those women especially Cami. Tristan lives in the dark sector. Tristan himself is in a dark place until he meets Serene. Serene lives in the light sector. Serene embodies goodness until she meets Tristan. Once Tristan and Serene meet everything spins out of control. I would like to see both of them stand up for themselves and be happy. I'm looking forward to the next book.

This book had it all. Star crossed lovers with lots of drama, sex, plot, and new paranormal creatures! The characters were my favorite part but keep in mind that this is a long story with fast pacing. I read some of the reviews and it did not feel all over the place for me at least, it was actually pretty easy to follow. I think if you like pages of details about a room or place this may not be the book for you, this one is detailed but moves right along and focuses on the plot and characters which I personally like.

I picked up a sexy Angel and Demon vibe from Serene and Tristan. She’s innocent and sheltered and he is everything her society views as evil, but the way he softens up around her and the way she becomes stronger around him made for some sexy chemistry. The summary for book two start with the words ‘stronger, darker, hotter’ so hopefully this means Serene will break the chains of her society and kick some butt! I can’t wait to read it!

I frigging LOVED IT!!

This story held an element of intrigue but was initially difficult to immerse myself into, perhaps it part due to the storyline itself and a bit due to the narration. The storyline did not pull me in, was a bit direction-less at the beginning until the love interest arrived on the scene, and the hero demonstrated some unexpected behaviors (hinted at in the beginning). The plot line seemed to find its way at that point. Once the society’s secrets started to unravel, the story took off.

With the story being in the third person and lending the impression of omniscience, the voice performance felt curtailed. The story sounded as if the characters were talking about themselves rather than telling their own story. Also, I wasn't a fan of the voice acting of the male tone and cadence, in particular. Actually, voicing the women roles were more appealing.

Overall, creative fantasy particularly after midway, but I think the delivery would have been stronger in first person and with a compelling grab at the beginning.

I know Serene will probably change in time, but I could not stand her character so far. Her naivete and just plain ignorance about literally everything drove me insane. I understood the reasoning behind it with her being sheltered and all, but it's interesting how she looked at things from the outside and was able to piece together how she didn't want a life in the light sector and then just continually caved over and over again as soon as she was around her family and Alex. She was so easily manipulated by Tristan, Alex, and her mother, it was pathetic. I would love to see her become a Kroc and eat Alex for breakfast. I will try the next book to see if she becomes a bad b**** but I'm hesitant. This book was so much longer than I felt it needed to be; the constant back and forth with Serene changing her mind and Tristan continually thinking he's ready to see her then realizing his training hadn't prepared him enough yet... it was exhausting and kind of boring to listen to at points. The narrator did a pretty good job, I've heard novels with his narration before and while I always liked his voice, it would have been nice to have a female narrating the female voices because while I know he's doing it unintentionally, the women sound nasally, snotty, and just plain stupid sometimes. Leah was a great character that had a lot more to her than we realized at first, and her bimbo voice didn't do her much justice, not that it's the narrator's fault that he was told to speak her voice that way. Cam's voice is another that would have been a great one to be voiced by a woman. Regardless, I don't think I can make a verdict on this one until I hear the rest of the series. I honestly thought this was a standalone until I got to the end, I probably missed it in the summary or something before buying it. But it has time to redeem itself, maybe.

Just okay for me
