Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) is American's greatest theologian and philosopher. One of the key figures in the 'Great Awakening,' he entered Yale at 12 and was head tutor at 21. Edwards pastored congregations for over 30 years and earned a reputation as a consummate rhetorician and master preacher. Shortly after becoming President of Princeton University he died of complications from a smallpox inoculation. He is buried in Princeton cemetery.
Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God was preached on July 8, 1741 in Enfield, Connecticut. It is considered the most famous sermon ever preached in American history. The vivid imagery Edwards employed made some tremble and cry out for mercy. Others fainted. Five hundred people were converted that day.

So very good!!!!
I loved it all!! It is a good reminder of how we are only human and how we can do nothing to escape God’s wrath but believe that God is the Creator, that He loves you, that Jesus is the Son of God and that He came to this Earth and died so we could live!! But Jesus did not stay dead!! No!! Jesus rose from the dead three days later!! Jesus went though all that pain so that we could live with God and have a second chance!! So please don’t waste that!!!! Jesus dead so we can live!!!! Jesus was separated from God so we don’t have to be, if we just BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!! 💖✝️💕✝️💝✝️

Outstanding!
Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this sermon. The introduction from R.C. Sproul was an unexpected treat. The narrator does a great job in delivering the dark and urgent tone of the message. Jonathan Edward's delivers incredibly strong metaphors and imagery to help people understand the holiness and inconceivable mercy of God. A frightfully pleasurable listen.
