Date night goes off the rails when one couple gets wrapped up in a crime in progress, in this “hilarious” (
People) new novel from the USA Today bestselling author.

When Jane and Dan score dinner reservations at the renowned and expensive La Fin du Monde (The End of the World) Jane thinks it’s as good a place as any to tell Dan she wants a divorce. The mother of two feels unneeded by her teenagers, and her writing career has screeched to a halt. Her one published novel sold under five hundred copies. Worse? She’s pretty sure Dan is cheating on her.

But before they even get to the second course, an activist group bursts into the dining room. Jane is shocked—and not just because she’s in a hostage situation the likes of which she’s only seen in the movies! Nearly everything the disorganized and bumbling activists say and do is right out of the pages of her failed book. Even Dan (who Jane wasn’t sure even read her book) admits it’s eerily familiar.

Which means Dan and Jane can predict what’s going to happen next. And they’re the only ones who can stop it. This wasn’t what Jane was thinking of when she said “’til death do us part” all those years ago, but if they can survive this, they can survive anything—even marriage.

I’m glad I took a chance on this book. The narrator was super entertaining, covering all of the characters. The book was a unique story and I highly recommend it.

A surprise hit!

Some of the dialogue was very predictable. Yet the story, as it unfolded, was engaging.

A very clever premise

I related to this book bc I’m in the same stage of life as the characters. Even though the story had a different premise and the story flowed, I didn’t really like Janes attitude even though I understood her feelings and probably would have made some of the same choices.
It’s a different and easy book

Cute and easy

Very strange book but so ridiculous and delightful. Great characters and lots of humor. A fun and engaging book. Fantastic narrator. Highly recommended.

Ridiculous & Delightful

This book was so boring. It was just a series of clichés and woke agenda items. I'm getting so tired of Amazon promoting this junk. In addition, the narrator ended every sentence with the same inflections. When did it become ok to justify criminal activity. Don't waste your time.

Tired of the woke!

This was a very silly storyline. I couldn’t finish it. I w as hard to listen to.

The narration was bad.

The first half or so of this book was somewhat interesting. But then it went off the rails. I’m not sure if this was a satire about climate change or a serious attempt to support the climate change narrative. Maybe it was satire about marriage or a serious attempt to belittle marriage relationships. We were going to quit this book abut 2/3rds of the way through but decided to power on to see if it could get any worse. Spoiler alert, it does. The narrative about their heroic felon daughter was beyond the pale. The back and forth discussions between Jane & Dick was beyond the pale. Don’t waste your time on this drivel.

Stupendously Stupid
