hard to feel bad for them.

it is hard to feel bad for these girls in this story. they do so many foolish things and bad things Fall apon them because it's their own fault.
Even the father is to blame for how stupid these girls turned out. they are smart though, because they eventually do learn. But they could have easily avoided many of these situations if they were just smarter to begin with.
I watch the movie first on Netflix, I hope the book would do a bit more explaining on these characters though. But all it does is pisses you off more for how dumb some of these characters are.
all right book, just didn't care much for the way the characters acted in the events.

A future of the past. 5 star production!

Jean Hegland weaves and unravels and stitches together a tale of love, resourcefulness and courage so compellingly plausible that I feel the need to study the healing power of herbs to prepare for her imagined future.

Equally gripping is Alyssa Bresnahan's narration. Her pacing is spot on, her voices distinct and yet subtle. She is ever present for every thought, word, sentence.

Background noise!

The book was ok, and narration was lovely, but the constant distant mumbling in the background was extremely distracting and annoying. It sounded like two books were recorded in the rooms next to each other.

A great story about Sisterhood and Survival

loved it, learned a lot and I could see the reality in the full possibly.

Different dystopia

Don't expect monsters and massive death. This version is actually more real, more to heart.

Poor recording

Great story and good narration however, you can hear people talking in the background off-and-on throughout a great deal of the book.

It has moments where you are think this is to silly but its definitely worth finishing.

A realistic post apocalypse book

This tale was believable. The characters were likable and real. There were times when I couldn't put this one down.

I started listening and immediately heard the end of Ellen (Elliot) Page. The movie was almost exactly like the book and the book was stellar. It was heartbreaking and human, with a sister bond that was 😳 at one point, where the movie didn't go. Definitely a read worth reading by one of my favorite authors.

Outstanding

This is an incredible telling of the survival of two young women in the face of losing so much that they believed.
