Resumen del Editor

In Into? North Morgan shines a coolly mesmerizing light on the modern generation of gay men that are living firmly outside the closet, freed from the shadow of AIDS and elevated by popular culture, but plagued by a new set of problems, insecurities, and self-destructions.

Konrad Platt needs to get out of town. Heartbroken after his boyfriend leaves him for another man, Konrad abandons his life in London for the warm sun and blue surf of LA. He occupies a refined world of hard abs, VIP parties, and designer drugs that’s constantly, endlessly documented on social media. You know him from your various feeds - sunkissed, gym-ripped, and always having a better time than you. Or is he?

Beneath the perfectly curated Instagram profile is a man spiraling out of control and desperate for meaningful connection. As Konrad goes from gay bar to gay pride, and swipes right from bed to bed, North Morgan spins a story in brutal, addictive prose of excess and love that’s like nothing you’ve ever heard.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Into? has a sense of urgency - 'You must read this now!' I told a friend, shoving my copy into his hands. The novel is not clunking around with the literary halo of high advances and M.F.A. pedigree and overthought adjectives, but it’s a brutal story about loneliness in this hyperactive social media age that was bursting to be told." A Truly Captivating Read

I bought this audiobook on a whim after seeing some of the wonderful reviews and I was truly far from disappointed. The book is both sensual and hilarious at the same time and paints a truly accurate portrait of the contemporary gay culture. Christian Coulson's narration is exceptional as well and adds even more to the experience of the novel. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun summer read.

An interesting read if you’re into it.

North Morgan has written an entertaining story in the way so-called pop corn movies are fun. Into? offers an interesting look at gay bro stereotypes. It tells the story of a 30-something man with a broken spirit and incredibly low self-esteem who falls hard for a breathtakingly handsome young man who unfortunately is as loathsome as he is gorgeous. The interactions described are compelling, and at times funny and sad.

The author doesn’t break any new ground in style nor he offers his audience any deep or insightful revelations about life in general or gay culture, but he does manage to provide a good time with his take on current gay lifestyle trends, hook up apps, and everyday interactions that will seem familiar to any guy who has ever dared date another man.

Candid

Hilarious, sad, raw, pathetic, truthful account of how lonely postmodern gay self-absorbed chemsex really is.

Instafamous

I just happened to read a brief review of this novel in Out Magazine and decided to give it a try. If you have read the description you will get the gist of the story. It is an interesting look at a particular brand of gay male culture. The performance was ok and the story was ok. Although I think this book attempts to force the reader into having sympathy for the brand of white gays this book is about and I think that is a little weird Overall, it was a nice little break away from my usual Audible selections.

I felt some of my old life in this

I felt some of my old life in this

Having been a scene queen I saw so much of my life in this but was disappointed in how it ended like the book was just wrapped up when the author got tired of journaling. Even though it’s not a diary of North’s life I feel the book curtailed without leaving any meaning to it.

Excellent

Mr. Morgan’s book was both entertaining as well as written from the heart and mind of a gay man. It was relatable and felt like I actually knew the person in the book. Another impressively written novel. Thanks North.

First things first, this book is a satire

I, for one, am impartial when a story incorporates social media into it's mix. Into? does this amazingly. Facebook, Instagram, and Grindr are just a few used in the novel.

This book is a satire. It pokes fun of the gym-bro gay guys while giving us some insight into their culture. What I love about this novel was that you could really tell that the author took inspiration from his life.

It was funny, heartbreaking, annoying, emotional, and relevant to today's times .

If you enjoy satirical novels, look no further. It's a short quick read that packs a punch.

first half was good

I liked the first half of the book but then when Lloyd entered the picture, the story became frustrating to me. I am aware that this is a satire but who does put up with a guy like that just because he's hot?

Self-Loathing: A Novel

This book is a monument to self hatred. In the guise of offering commentary on the emptiness of gay bro life, it is instead a bleak screed that can’t stand apart from its subject for even a second. It’s the feel-bad book of the summer without any real point of view beyond a sort of childish nihilism.

Vapid but maybe that’s the point

A story that spans two full years and no growth? For someone who seems so self aware it gets to the point where you just want to slap him. Maybe it’s that Coulson sounds so intelligent that it’s hard to buy the main character is such a dolt.
