The Good Kind of Different

Well. This book truly took me by surprise. I admit to being a tiny bit confused in the beginning but the story was so compelling that I wanted to know where the plot would take me.

This story took a very different take on angels and demons. Some religious people may be up in arms about it, but ignore them. This book was an entertaining fantasy that I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

Great narration and good characters.

Book Adored

Peirs needs to save his half-breed baby. Tabbis  is duty bound to kill him but needs answers more. Can they work together to get what 5hey both want or will they be torn apart and lose everything?

A very intriguing story with interesting and entertaining characters. i love the incubus/succubus storyline with Angels and Demons. Makes you want to read more.

The narrator has a great voice and added to the enjoyment of the tale.

An interesting story of angels, demons, others

This is a story about the battle for the ultimate power over all beings, in the end. Yahweh has created the angels, and decides who becomes a fallen angel, or demon, of which Lucifer is the leader, of course.

However, there are other creatures, not created by Yahweh; the succubi and the incubi. During the wars, Yahweh orders their destruction and the destruction of their creator and home. The catch? Angels are selfish, and they also miss a few.

In modern times, one incubus prisoner, pregnant with his captor's baby, escapes and must find ways to feed himself and his offspring.

An angel, who was created for the purpose of destroying demons, meets the incubus; but he is ignorant to the truths that Yahweh has been hiding from him.

The story of these two leads to a miracle, and the start of the next adventure.

The narrator is not as bad as others have made him out to be. I have heard MUCH worse. He is very soft spoken; not quiet, just soft. The main thing I had to get used to was that the physically stronger MC has a much softer, weaker voice, than the much physically inferior MC; but that's me stereotyping. So.

Not a bad listen.

Angels and incubi,a perfect mix

I loved the blend of angels,incubi and the storyline. I recognized aspects from hearing stories as a kid so I wouldn't listen if you are religious,but for me it was perfect.

Incubus Adored

A very interesting twist on the stories about angels and Demons. Peirs is an Incubus and his life has always been a struggle. When the angel Tabbis and his life intersect everything changes. The pull between the two is undeniable and they begin to see something worth fighting for. Can the two find what they need with each other or will it all come crashing down on them?

I was quickly engrossed in this story. The author does a nice job of creating strong characters and a wonderous world for them. Peirs is strong and determined to save himself and his baby no matter what. Tabbis is now filled with questions and seeks answers as well as trying to understand the new emotions that Peirs brings out in him. The two are good together and it was good to see them work towards their happy ever after. Not only do we get a good main couple, but the secondary characters also have a lot to say and I hope that they get to have their stories told as well. This tale is an intriguing story that reminds you not to take everything at face value.

I enjoyed the story

I really enjoyed the story of Incubus Adored, it was interesting, intriguing and unique. I liked the narrator's voice, but his narration got too monotone at times and that made me enjoy this beautiful story a bit less. Peirs was such a great character, I really liked his development and how determined he became when it wasn't just his life on the line. Tabbis was a good character as well, but I really felt for Peirs. Incubus Adored was a first book I listened to written by Ki Brightly and I am looking forward to his other stories.

Great story!

This is such a different story then I have read and it is a great story. Then we have Ken Solin who I think did a great job in narrating. Peirs and Tabbis's story comes alive. Ken Solin does a great job with the voices.

Purple is the new black!

I feel like this book is a lot heavier and more focused on the fantasy stuff rather than romance. Romance definitely isn’t the focus of this book but I loved how wildly prosperous and imaginative the fantasy element of this book is. 😁 Nothing is what it seems in this book so it’s quite difficult to explain the plots and twists of this one. But I’ll try my best. 😌


So the gist is Peirs is the last incubus left on earth after they were slaughtered by God aka Yahweh. And to top his misery, he was captured by Michael the archangel as soon as he came out of Eden and kept as a sex slave for a really long time. When he finally found out he was pregnant with Michael’s child, he knew he had to get away or else, both he and his child will be killed. Tabbis is the youngest and most innocent and naive angel in heaven who’s recently stationed in US to take care of roaming demons on earth. When he met the most breathtakingly enticing creature who smells of apples and blossoms in the back alley of a bar, he couldn’t believe that was an incubus who were supposedly wiped out from the earth millennias ago. But soon, Tabbis learnt that everything he once thought true are actually lies built upon lies. Now Tabbis has to defy God to protect the love of his life and himself.


I struggled with this book in the beginning because I’m not familiar with Jewish names of bible so I had to go and google several times. I kinda wish this was set not based in this theme but set in a completely made up universe. I like what’s going on between Tabbis and Peirs but the separation between them was a tad too long. Is there UST? Yes! 🔥 Is there a good thing going on between those two? Yes! 😌 But it wasn’t enough to make me believe that they have already fallen in love in the end. 😭 The two MCs needed some more time together to make their love believable. And I had great expectation for Ken Solin’s narration because I really loved the sample of this audio but his performance kinda fell flat for me. Although he has a very lovely and soothing voice, I felt like his voice was sleepy and I could hear him swallowing throat throughout the audio so this audio definitely needed better editing. 🤷‍♀️ He wasn’t able to distinguish the several characters’ voices in the audio distinctly too. I somehow wish I had read this book instead of listening it because I knew I’d love this book so much more if I just read it. 😞 In conclusion, I love the book as a crossover between epic fantasy and dark paranormal but the romance aspect of this book wasn’t for me. And while the narration is ok it wasn’t able to elevate the quality of the book like it was supposed to. 🙂 Still, I’m going to read or listen the second book in the series because I’m kinda hooked with the world building of this book. 😌

Fascinating

I enjoyed my visit into the the world created by Ki Brightly. As a reader (listener) of mainly contemporary romance stories, I was totally fascinated by the story, even if it did take me a little while to get into the right head space to fully understand what was going on. Once there however, it was a lovely journey and I was totally sucked into the story. I enjoyed the narration although struggled with a few of the earlier scene transitions, taking more than a moment to orient myself with the character POV and the new scene setting. This could have been a factor because I am not used to fantasy stories with their complexities. The one standout of the book was how descriptive it was - sights, sounds, smells - I could visualise it so well. Overall, I'd recommend this audio book.
