Another Great Book By Joyce Meyer

This book came at the right time in my life. Mrs. Meyer delivers practical Christian lessons that impact your life when you practice them. Thank you to God for imparting the gift of teaching to Joyce Meyer.

Great book, good listen

In Pursuit of Peace is an excellent book, on par with Joyce's other recent books, including How to Hear from God, Seven Things That Steal Your Joy, and Knowing God Intimately. Like her other books, this book addresses the subject implied by the title in a pure, inspired and unrelenting approach; i.e. no fluff or filler. For me, Joyce is the most inspired, and inspiring, Christian author alive today. Read this book, do what she says, and you will truly have more peace.
The only problem I have with this book is that it isn't read by Joyce Meyer. Pat Lentz is an excellent reader, but the book is often written in the first person. If you know Joyce, you surely know her voice, and it seems like an imposter is reading it! To hear this voice, lovely as it is, talk about "my husband Dave" and "I was led by God" when you know it isn't the same person,is distracting. Why they decided to change their successful formula of having Joyce do the reading, as was the case in the other three books I mention above, is a mystery. Joyce obviously has a gift of teaching, and her speaking is part of that gift. Had this book been read by Joyce, I would have given it five stars. Still, it is a good listen, and it accomplishes exactly what the author intended.

I needed more peace in my life and this book works! please give this book a try...

Easy to listen to

Great book on walking in peace practically and from a biblical perspective with many personal examples.

Wished Joyce would've read it herself

After listening to How to Hear from God, Seven Things That Steal Your Joy, and Knowing God Intimately, I was very much looking forward to this book. However, like the previous reviewer stated, part of Joyce's anointing is in her voice, and having a stranger reading her book is like having a stranger preaching her sermons. It doesn't feel right. I hope Joyce would consider in reading her own books again.

Not really Joyce....

I love to hear Joyce preach but this audio book was not done by Joyce. It would have made a big difference if Joyce were the actual narrator. The material is fine - it just lacks the impact Joyce brings to preaching. It was a bit of a let down.
