The barnyard signifies a "cosmopolitan and diverse" suburb. Goldie heads up the mountain on foot, demonstrating how we often take the long, hard way to get to where we need to go. Her "baggage" denotes just that - baggage we all carry around. She shows us how to forgive, move past anger, and realize that our character and greatest joys come from some of the darkest, most difficult times or decisions in our lives. Goldie shows us to hold on to the vision G-d places within our hearts, even if it means leaving all you know for all you don't. She shows us there is a cost to follow our destiny. A remarkable gem.
The story resonated with me because I have felt that feeling of not fitting in. So many voices telling you who you should be and what you're doing wrong. I never have fit in and I was always told to do the safe thing instead of the dreams in my head.
This story inspires us all to listen to the spirit and follow that call to greater things. It teaches us to ignore the doubting voices and stretch your wings.
Great performance by the reader. You'll enjoy the whole journey.

Encouragement and wisdom throughout this story about the narrow path to finding your God given gift / your destiny. Finding Faith on the long journey to who you were created to be. Beautiful narration. I was able to visualize each character in Ms Phelps story. A must listen for all ages.
