insightful and encouraging book, a must read/liste

insightful and encouraging information. I didn't mind the narrator just would have preferred to hear Dr. Evan's voice.

Simply Amazing!

The story of Joseph is an amazing one and Pastor Tony Evans presented it in such a way that the blessings and practical application seemingly jump off the page. A book EVERYONE should read! Detours lead to Destiny and you become all God has created you to be in the process! Thanking God for the gift!

Take Heart

I started this book on my Kindle and was so hooked, I had to get it here so I can hear the entire message. At a moment I wanted to give up, God spoke to me in Chapter 17. In the exact moment I was listening to the passage in Isaiah about the eagles wings, I was passing a hawks nest eye level to me in my car. When I thought how perfect the timing was, just 10 seconds further one soared in the sky over my car. Thankful for Dr Evan’s ministry and how God speaks to me through his sermons and books.

Necessary for any committed Believer

I am listening to this over and over to get through my detours. This book illuminated so many truths and made sense of my journey with the Lord. This season is very, very difficult, dry and silent. It feels like I am wrongfully imprisoned and my sentence will never end. I was so confused and discouraged, believing I must have done something wrong. This book gives me the encouragement and truth I need to persevere. This book contains explanations and knowledge necessary to understand how the Lord works HIS plans in our lives and the purpose in the detours.

The encouragement I needed!

I’ve heard Joseph’s story a thousand times but this perspective and breakdown spoke it to life for me and makes it so easy to understand and apply to my life. It is encouraging and also a reminder to be patient and not lose faith that God is always doing something, even when you can’t see it. LOVED IT!!!

Yes, I love the story of Joseph, and when I am feeling "lost" in my detours I have to remember that this is God's will and he is in control.

What did you like best about this story?

I think understanding the story of how our life is like that of an eagle.

Which character – as performed by J.D. Jackson – was your favorite?

The narrator was a little more mono-tone, I wish he had been as upbeat as Tony. I would have to say the story of Joseph was my favorite.

I loved this book, it really puts "detours" in perspective. If you are wondering about your circumstances and why it "appears" that God is not with you, Please listen to Tony explain Joseph's story. He waited a long time for God to provide and he went through up and downs just like us. We need to trust that God is in control.

Have Patience in waiting for blessings from God

I will listen to this book over and over. It gives me strength and understanding when things don't go my way. I love everything Tony Evans says. God truly speaks through him. I feel peace after listening to his messages.
