Interview with the author

Q: Aside from the Soulmate Shifter Series, what other books do you write and what order should I read/ listen to them?

A: I have several other completed paranormal romance series. The Sanctuary, Texas series has an apocalyptic flavor and is set in a small Texas town. It's a wild ride with lots of romance, adventure, and enough heartache to make you need a box of tissues several times. The VonBrandt Pack Series is another fan favorite! This series is set in a small town called Somewhere, TX. I actually have three series set in the world of Somewhere - two paranormal and one contemporary set with crossover characters. Then, the spin-off into the Moonbound series that picks up where the VonBrandt's leave off.

Finding love while running for your life

I loved Kann and Penny’s shifter-human fated mates instalove suspense story. It is a heartwarming and spicy story with real and relatable characters with a backdrop of danger. Penny is a human mechanical engineer with an expertise in weapons who flees to small town Mystery, Alaska after witnessing a murder. Kann is a lion shifter from Reylea. He arrived on earth through a magic portal while his world was collapsing. He has joined a small tribe of other Rylean shifters in Mystery. The instant he sees Penny, Kann recognizes the soul call shining from her and knows she’s his mate. But Kann recognizes her terror and I loved how he gently, lovingly, and beautifully allowed her to make all her choices and claim her autonomy rather than barreling forward. The journey to their HEA includes danger, the threat of death, physiological and cultural differences, baggage unpacking, and life course realignment. The book was well written with three dimensional characters and good world building. I am excited to read the next Reylean’s HEA.

Klaus Von Hohenloe did a good job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.

An Emotional & Exciting Fated Mates Romance

Kann and Penny's romance is sweet and steamy. This soulmate shifter story was an amazing read. The well written story line offers plenty of intensity, drama, danger, humor, action, passion, charm, sweetness and of coarse, romance. I loved both of these characters. Penny is smart and determined but with such a soft center from a childhood growing up in the system. Kann of course is all kinds of hot, protective mate from the second he lays eyes on Penny. Penny is scared and in trouble, so you just know Kann is going to have to work extra hard to earn Penny's trust and affection. A fun plot, sizzling chemistry and a wonderful cast of supporting characters help to create an engaging book and has you completely invested in this couple . I totally enjoyed it and am already eager to enjoy the next book in this series. Only a single narrator for this book but I liked their voice and I felt that they did a very good job in bringing the story to life.

I Loved Penny and Kann!

This second book in the series picks up a little bit after the first one ends, and continues the adventure. Witnessing her boss murder people, Penny flees on the first plane out of town. It just so happens she ends up in Mystery, Alaska and in the midst of the unusual tribe of shifters that just may be her saving grace. Kann know instantly that Penny is his mate, and will do whatever is necessary to keep her safe. Full of action and emotion, I listened to this story straight through.
This narrator is fabulous! He has unique voices for each of the characters that just bring them to life and puts plenty of emotion into his voice to impart the edge of the seat action and tense situations the characters find themselves in.

What a love story..loved it

I loved this book when I read it ....Then the audio version of it, just seemed to bring it to life..I loved all the narrations but the voice he did for Kann. It made Kann sound like he was royalty instead of backwoods man.(like he had a burr up his butt in places) but once i got passed that..I love how he brought them all to life. Very well written story, This story has so much love, compassion, hot sizzling passion, fear and mystery. Love the characters, the description of the landscaped and shows how a love story comes together.

One of the most exciting series I’ve read!

It’s impossible to not fall in love with the members of this tribe of shifters and their mates. Such a fantastic story line and characters that are so real you expect them to step off the page. I plan on reading this whole series straight through and I know I will have to start reading it all over again as soon as I finish it. Wonderful author, just so creative!

another must read !! this book had me on the edge of my seat. I kept my headset on at work so I wouldn't wonder what else was hapoening..LOVED IT

I love this series

I love this series. It's heartfelt and engaging.
I liked the narration. Klaus von Hohenloe did a great job. he really brought the story to life for me. Very glad he has read the other Soulmate series. I'm hoping he does the rest of the series.

These Shifters are Out of This World!!

Love the premise of shifters from another realm. Our heroine Penny is in danger and does not trust others, or want to put others in danger. The draw to this fierce lion-shifter Kann is undeniable. He says "youngling" instead of child, and "mate" instead of girlfriend.

Danger, humor and sparks galore in this terrific story of Mystery, Alaska.

Ms. Shannan is one of my favorite authors and I love all her books, but these that take place in Mystery, Alaska is the absolute best.
