Great

I enjoyed this memoir. I have seen the Star Wars movies in bits and pieces. One of these days I will sit down and watch them in order and all the way through. I was surprised to learn there was a man inside the costume of C-3PO. I guess I thought it was an animated robot with a man doing the voice.

The book is well written. Daniels provides information and in-sight into his role as C-3PO; but, not a lot of information about the movie or other actors, which worked out fine for me. If you are a C-3PO fan, you will enjoy this memoir.

The book is nine hours and twenty-seven minutes. Anthony Daniels does a good job narrating his own book.

Wonderful look behind the mask.

I truly loved this book, and having him read it made it all the better. It gives a great look behind the scenes of making Star Wars with a personal touch. I typically read the reviews after finishing a book and before making my own. There seem to be many complaints about how he went on and on with his complaints, but I feel that with it being about his time playing 3PO, it makes sense to tell it in a 3PO way. There is also mention of his criticism of certain movies, but we all do that. He just has better reasons for his opinion.

Mr. Daniels is a wonderful storyteller, and this book is a great listen for fans of the franchise, aspiring actors, and anyone who grew up with Star Wars.

Excellent story, vocal performance

Mr. Daniels does a wonderful job of telling his story – and his alter ego’s – in an engaging and interesting manner. None of the chapters are particularly lengthy, lending this well to being listened to over short trips, or a long drive. I agree with the other reviewers who said it wouldn’t be the same reading the book – having the voice of C-3PO read it to you, made it particularly enjoyable.

Beautifully told story of a beloved actor’s sentimental, sometimes-deferential and sharply insightful journey through the Star Wars universe.

To hear Mr. Daniels tell his story in such a heartfelt way was very moving to me. Thank you Anthony.

Very Entertaining Bio!!!

As a huge Stars Wars fan, I loved hearing some of the stories that shaped the actor and the character.

A Must Read for Star Wars Fans

Super fans will most likely give this 5 stars across the board. I enjoyed most the stories of making Episodes 4,5&6. For me those are the best of the Star Wars movies. I definitely think C-3PO should have had a bigger role in the final 3 movies.

Prepare yourself for honesty

Anthony Daniels’s true love of Threepio and the saga comes through, but don’t be fooled - this is an honest account of his experience. He is open about the slights and disappointments he felt throughout his association with the Star Wars universe. His story made me smile and also made me shake my head. It’s a glimpse into the unseen regions of the galaxy, and into Daniels’s own character. I enjoyed his insight.

Literally the BEST book

Let me start by saying that I am not a hard core Star Wars fan. I enjoy watching them but they aren't my favorite movies. When my husband tries to explain one of them, I zone out.

This book, from the first few minutes, grabbed ahold of my soul and hung on. I couldn't stop listening. The performance is fantastic, the writing is from the heart but is not long winded, or self-aggrandizing. The story is written humbly.

He took C3po and brought him to life. I don't believe another actor could have accomplished as much.

Warning, there are movie magic spoilers in this book. There is discussion of how certain things were done. (how things were made to look real)

A Book for Star Wars Fans and Fans of Humanity

What a delightful book! Amazing how being a robot can give Mr. Daniels such a wonderful insight into humanity. Very powerful storytelling delivered in a soft and loving manner.
