Resumen del Editor

When his wild spitfire of a sister makes a scene by drawing a claymore in Hyde Park, Highlander Robert Waters knows something must be done. To forestall the inevitable scandal, he hires widowed Prudence Whittaker to teach his sister how to be a lady - never expecting to find unbridled passion beneath the clever Englishwoman's prim exterior.

Mrs. Whittaker is a fraud. Born Lady Prudence Farthington, daughter of the ruined Earl of Lynwood, she's never even been married. In order to make her way in the world, she has to rely on her wits and a web of lies...lies a sexy Highlander is all too close to unraveling. He swears he will possess her; she vows he will do nothing of the sort. Yet as passions heat, Prudence comes to realize the illicit pleasure that can be had in going toe-to-toe with a Scot.

Contains mature themes.

Contrived, boring and silly

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I don't think anyone would enjoy this book, unless they really love Scots and don't care about a well written story with clever dialogue. This book was boring and the dialogue was ridiculous.
In the first book and this one, they use the wrong way to refer to a persone. This book uses Mrs. Prudence ( her first name) . No one in this time would refer to a married/widowed woman this way.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Nothing by this author

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I like the narrator, but the story was just stupid. People did ridiculous things.
The little sister in this book practices fencing and knife throwing in the ballroom. I still don't understand why she is doing this. It's just to make her appear unusual and tough. There is no point to this activity.
In the first chapter, the little sister ( marry Elizabeth) draws a sword in the middle of Hyde Park. Where was she hiding this weapon and why didn't her brother take it away from her, instead of complaining afterwards. It is just too contrived and the characters do things outside of the normal behavior, with no reason.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disgust, anger and frustration at spending money/time on this book

Any additional comments?

It is an "insta-love" book. In the first 3 - 7 days, the h/h fall in love/lust with each other. No real reason, just they like how each other looks/smells ( yes, there is constant mention of how they smell). Before you know it they are in love and all over each other. No character development and little dialogue to make you get a sense of why they like each other. It is just a stupid plot with slap-stick characters that don't act in a reasonable manner. It's just a little difficult to understand why anyone is doing anything. I jus had to give up half way through.
One of the really stupid parts is the hero uses a pidgin to send a message. That's just weird and unheard of in this time. There are a lot of little scenes like this that just don't make sense, but the author must have enjoyed writing it.
Don't waste your money on this book, there are much better books out there.

OK until the end

OK story until the last 1/4 of the book, then it's a re-telling of the first book, just the names are changed, but identical scenario. Disappointed in the ending.
