Resumen del Editor

How to Learn and Memorize Russian Vocabulary ... Using a Memory Palace Specifically Designed for the Russian Language (and adaptable to many other languages too).

If you'd like to improve your ability to learn Russian vocabulary by as much as 100%, 200%, even 300% (or more) ... using simple memory techniques that you can learn in 15-20 minutes (or less), then this may be the most important book that you will ever read.

Believe it or not, it really doesn't matter if you think you have a good memory or not.

The information in this book will teach you:

  • Why memory is like a bicycle everyone can ride (with some minor personal adjustments).
  • The real reason why no one should ever be squeamish about memorization or learning a language.
  • Why and how some of the most famous memory skills are applicable to learning any language, especially Russian.
  • How you can easily create a "letter location" memory system based on the Russian alphabet.
  • A secret method for translating Russian letters into English for better comprehension.
  • Unique techniques that will have you literally "tuning in" on the Russian language.
  • How to separate Russian words in the most effective manner for memorization.
  • Two secret ways you can use relaxation to aid the memorization process.

These two methods alone are worth the price of this book because they will literally eliminate your stress and apprehension as you learn Russian.

Nothing special

Generic mnemonic/visualizaiton based memorization techniques. Not worth the purchase, can learn the same info from a quick google.

Not really easy to be applied

Nice and acknowledgeble book but to put in pratical terms, is not that easy to be done.

Make a Mind Palace like Sherlock Holmes

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this is a great memorization technique and it doesn't have to just be Russian vocabulary.

What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Learn and Memorize Russian Vocabulary?

The idea of the Mind Palace and how to set one up. WHERE was this forty years ago when I was having to memorize vast quantities of German vocabulary and chemical and physics formulae? It would have helped me a lot during exams.

Anthony Metivier is a stimulating learning guide

If you could sum up How to Learn and Memorize Russian Vocabulary in three words, what would they be?

There is a lot of valuable information here so you might need to pause and take some notes

Who was your favorite character and why?

You might need to ask yourself why you have chosen this book? What you feel you are deficient in and why you are struggling with learning a new language? Our brains have a natural sponge quality if we are relaxed and you maybe should just work with that first before applying these artificial techniques. When you hit barriers and limits then you may need to employ some of the techniques Anthony outlines, otherwise you might be sabotaging your own innate ability and undermining your self-confidence.

Which character – as performed by Elliott Bales – was your favorite?

Ultimately this is all about you and your mind and learning how to play with it in creative ways in order to boost your learning ability.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

From Russia with love and fond memories.

Any additional comments?

Anthony is a very intelligent and stimulating guide and if you want to stay interested in memory work he is worth being connected with and he is constantly creating new material with lots of helpful advice. One thing though that he probably has covered somewhere in one of his books that I have not come across yet, is the idea that you might be struggling and looking for some memory techniques because you are run down and your brain just feels old and tired out. So as well as a memory palace you might need things like Super Lecithin and Vitamin B12 supplements so that you feel up to doing that memory work in the first place. So it is worth researching that topic. But Anthony is certainly inspirational and can teach you a lot. Good luck and enjoy learning valuable things and learning to work with your mind's amazing abilities.

Cant Say enough Good Things about this Book

Although I consider myself to have a pretty good memory, I have struggled so much with Russian vocabulary over the past two years. Mr Metivier is correct when he says saying that there are better ways of learning vocabulary than rote memorization . I learned my vocab. list for the whole month in one day! I ma very excited about this method , and I am going to share it with Russian class tonight.
The book is fun, with a lively approach to learning. There are a lot of details- additional resources are noted throughout, there are free worksheets to help you build your Palace, and Mr Metivier welcomes questions and answers them promptly.
I signed up for the free Magnetic Memory newsletter.
The narrator was very good- but it would have been great to have Mr Metvier read it himself.
To paraphrase the book, when we memorize, we learn"and when we learn we are fully alive.
