A passionate explanation

Benny and his passion for language learning come through in this book. His narration is great.

Great for defeating the negative voice

Benny is certainly full of positivity for language learning. If you struggle with the negative voice in your head that says you can’t learn a foreign language - this book is for you. Benny is able to combat the reasons why many learners struggle - their own negativity. There is no lack of solid info in this book but there is nothing earth shattering or mind blowing here. It’s a good book and it’s certainly helped me on my language learning journey in that I now know I can do it - but I don’t think it’s really given me tips and tricks that are going to give me a boost or edge. It certainly won’t allow me to learn a language quickly and efficiently, “in half the time”, or anything like that. It’s fluffy, but it serves a crucial purpose to inflate positivity and “pats on the back” if you’re a negative Nancy.

I think what I really desire and haven’t found yet anywhere I look is a comprehensive and clearly outlined language learning method that isn’t vague or fluffy. Just a no nonsense clearly articulated download. These polyglots clearly know something, but they struggle to teach it. Savant learner ≠ savant teacher. Benny actually is a decent teacher though - don’t get me wrong. I’m just speculating that many polyglots have forgotten what it’s like to be a beginner language learner and monolingual. Anyway, good luck and I hope you find what you’re looking for.

Good advice for a beginner to foreign language learning. Ive been studying languages for a while so already knew most of this content but still found some good bits of advice.

Great suggestions and ideas on how to learn a language!

If you’re looking to learn a new language, I can’t recommend this book enough. I’ve read other books in language learning and this one is so helpful and direct with practical advice I’ve seen work on myself and others. I’m working on becoming fluent in Portuguese to speak with my father-in-law, located in Brazil. This book helped accelerate some of that learning.

Great for Language Learning Tips and Inspiration

This book changed the way I looked at learning languages. It inspired me to start taking language learning seriously and gave the best tips on learning a language quickly and efficiently.

Worthwhile, If You’re Interesred

The most common complaint with this title is that it contains few useful ideas. I agree. And how many useful ideas do you need? A few seems plenty, especially when you’re beginning a tough task like aiming for fluency in a new language.

And if you’re not a beginner then, likely, this book is not for you.

Ultimately it is a book about mindset and the psychological approach needed to really learn a language quickly. It also contains a list of resources to help you get started.

This book provides some very practical approaches to language learning. It also gives excellent resources for language learners looking to find native speakers of their new language to practice conversation.
