Getting kidnapped and held hostage in a human trafficker's basement was not on my bingo card. Getting rescued by a paranormal being was also not on my bingo card. (Apparently, I needed to trade in bingo cards.) The guy who took me may be dead, but I know there are more people behind the operation, and I plan to shut it down. If I need to get the help of one of the creepy glowing-eyed dudes to do it, I will. It turns out Liam is incredibly sexy and really good with technology, too. He may be great at hacking into computers, but I'm determined to hack my way into his life.
Liam
Ever since I looked into the feisty human that Dexter rescued from a basement, I've been a little… obsessed. Is it wrong that I watch him all the time and hack into all his technology? I'm just trying to keep him safe. After all, he's sticking his nose into some troubling areas, and I can't deal with the thought of him getting taken again. Of course, I offer to help him when I discover his mission to take down a trafficking ring, although my motives aren't exactly pure. The little human attracts me in a way that I can't explain, and my hellhound thinks he's mine, whether he wants to be or not.

I had completely forgotten how funny this series is (even though some darker topics are being addressed in this book)! I did a lot of snort-laughing and giggling while listening. Like, when Quinton was picturing Toby as a vampire, dear lawd! 😂
Of course Liam, a hellhound and also a hacker and a stalker, came across as a tiny bit unhinged, but it was obvious that all his actions came from a place of love, the need to protect and deep appreciation. Well, that, and not really understanding the human concept of personal space and privacy.
Besides keeping an eye on Quinton to be sure he was safe, Liam also went out of his way to make sure he was warm and comfortable. I mean, sneaking in the rugs, swooooon. 😍 He was obviously completely smitten and for someone being a wee bit clumsy and awkward when interacting with humans, he was also so very understanding and supportive when it came to Quinton's moods, his trauma and his need for revenge and closure.
Speaking of Quinton, while he had the temper of a feral cat, how he cared for and protected Aiden was heartwarming, beautiful even. I loved how we not only got to see him as hurt, snarky and angry but also as caring and so very considerate. I am a huge found family fan and how all the hellhounds and all their friends rallied around Quinton, and also Aiden, and acted as strong support system and safety net, no matter what was needed, was both wonderful and entertaining at the same time!
I sometimes struggle with Alexander Cendese's narration but his high energy narration and excitable hellhounds really are a perfect match! That said, Iggy Toma did a great job, too!

Possessive Hellhound meets Hellcat (sort of)

Liam and Quinton have great golden retriever + black cat energy. the story is a bit darker than How to Flirt with and black cat MCs are generally not my favorite, so I didn't rate is as high as the first book.
Iggy Toma sounded bored in a lot of his chapters and that took away from the performance for me, but Cendese is perfect for the hellhound role. I was frustrated that he changed his Dexter voice since the first book and he also switched Cass's voice towards the end, but despite those mistakes, I enjoyed their performances overall. it's probably closer to a 3.5 for me, but I rounded it up because I really do think the concept of this series is so fun and different. I enjoy having a "darker" series that's light enough for me to handle lol.
Fun

I love the quick banter not only between the two MC but all the 'bothers' and friends. The story is fast and well thought out.
And even though, so far each book is focused on the pairing up two MC'S we get everyone else so lots of action.
The narration is wonderful, I just love this combination of narrators.
Love it
